Boy I missed you. Tryed to find information on your health to see if you were alive and kicken but no luck. Glad to have you back. 1st question. Do you still have to use non lead bullets or was that just required thru work? Did you cut all access to us while you were gone or did you follow along and just not post?

I had to put mom in nursing home and Medicare does not pay. I had to pay month up front $8070.00. She only lasted 5 days before passing. They refunded the rest back. My wife was in two separate nursing homes before she passed. Medicaid paid every dime that insurance didn't because she was declared as disabled. And Medicare will pay for the nursing home AFTER the person's assets are exhausted. I will have to look in to this. She is tecnally disabled per Dr. At present she is on a state funded medical insurance and they pay 0% of the nursing home but cover meds and things needed for her medical condition

Onebentarrow, those hospice people are very special people. I could not do what they do day in and day out. They pretty much nailed it on how long my mom and brother on how much time they had left. You are correct. Have delt with them thru my mother and father both passing from cancer. Can not say enough good about them. At present we are at a stage where she has to except her condition befor hospic can step in and help.

Latest lab work and doc appt completed. All top notch. A1C now 5.6. 284#, down from 343# almost 2 years ago. Lowest was 271#, but muscle gains have increased the #. I showed the doc my belt and showed all the extra holes I've punched. He just said WOW, you look great. Keep doing whatever your doing! I said BBB&E. Beef, butter, bacon, & eggs! His expression was priceless! Still got plenty of fat to lose, but very happy with my progress and increased health I've earned. YEAH! That is good to hear. Good for you! Onebentarrow

Loving all the fishing reports/pictures. You guys are killing me with all the monster bluegills. You and me both. I have not wet a line yet this year because of other issues that are more important at this time but I can look at the pictures and slobber all over my phone. Onebentarrow

If this was not real you would have to laugh at how crazy things are. Now I am dealing with insurance. She needs to go to a nursing home. I want her in a place that has the qualified staff to care for her in her condition. (Not all nursing homes have qualified staff to care for patients with spical health care needs. ( Just so you know) All the homes that have qualified staff are out of network so they will not pay for 100% of care costs. I ask if the would cover the standard cost at an in network home and I cover the rest. NOPE! They may cover 10 to 20% which seems stupid to me because if some one does not have the means to cover the out of network expense the insurance is gona have to cover 100% of in network expense verses say 90% of of in network limit and I the rest at out of network home. Another thing is if she does not recieve the care she needs she could very well (and probally will) end up back in the hospital which is gona be a tun more $$ than there 100% of in network facility. I am no rocket scientist but numbers do not seem add up to me in this situation. I sincerely hope none of you have to go thru the type of situation I have lately but if you do I hope these posts will give you an insight into what you could be dealing with and let you know you are not alone as others have been there and it is not easy but you can get thru it. I haven't come to the end of the tunnel yet but am hoping when I get there I will be stronger because of this journey. Only time will tell.

If you want to talk about Hospice PM me and I will talk to you about my family's experiences with Hospice. If nothing else except their offers to talk to you. They can explain what you may be experiencing in the next few months. Continuing prayers for strength. I have delt with hospice in the past. Both mom and dad passed from cancer. I only have good things to say about them. I have corresponded with them here but at this time my other half refuses any assistance. I think she is in denial of her situation. Onebentarrow

Could not figure out how to update old title with update so started a new one. It appears the antibotics are killing the infection. She is still weak and not really inproveing but not really declining either. Been one heck of a bad Rollercoaster ride the last week. I'll give a short version of the events. Entered hospital week ago Thursday with dehydration and every thing in her blood off kilter. Got her hydrated and some numbers back in specks. Talking discharge in 3 4 days to go home Next day she is incoherent and un responsive. Told has septis infection and antibotics not helping. Looking at 1 to 2 weeks max Next day go in she is 200% better. Antibotics are killing infection. Still weak but the finally got nausa and vomiting some what under control so she can keep fluids and some nourishment down. Next day they want to move her to a hospic facility and she refuses. She is also retaining fluid in her abdomen and haveing trouble breathing. She finally gives approval to remove fluid after 2 previous denials. Next day she is looking better and talking a lot better. Still looseing stringhts and getting weaker. By this time she is in a condition I can not care for her at home with out 24/7 assistance and that is not available on her state sponsored insurance. Somewhere in the early part of this I had a hospital bed lined up to pick up for home and tore the liveing room apart to make room for it then get the 1 to 2 week diagnose and have to call and cancel bed then find out Next day may need the bed then next day probably won't need bed now today I ask Dr if she will ever come home and get a maby. Reason being if she workes with her physical tharipes and gets strong enough I can care fore her she may come home. If she does not she won't and if any complications come up depending on them could affect outcome too. Now the punch in the gut. After all this I am told that if the infection and other complications are taken care of and all that is left is the cancer to fight we are still looking at just 6 months give or take a couple. That is the high lights. To say the last 14 days have been complicated and ruff is an understatement. I am trying to eat at least 2 meals a day and get some sleep because I know I am no help or support to her if I an sick but some days it just doesn't work out that way. All considered I am doing well As a side note,we have been together for 45 years and counting.
I want to thank you all for listening and caring. It helps more than you know.
Sencerely Onebentarrow

Mostly for strength. As some of you know the other half is fighting cancer. She has been in the hospital for a week now. I got i formation that The Dr's found she has a septis inection that has caused some kidney damage. She is recieveing antibodies for it. Here is the but, cancer will depress the amune system and the cancer treatments will degrade it to. The antibotics only help the system fight infection, they are not a cure all. I was told that if the antibotics donot get the infection under control she will be gone in 1 to 2 weeks.
If they get rid of the infection and only have to deal with the cancer it could be 6 mth to a year. At present I am doing good but I am haveing a hard time watching her suffer as I think anyone would. Would appreciate your thoughts, best wishes and prayers to help me bare this cross untill a time I can lay it down knowing I did the best I could to all involved in this endeavor
Thank you

I got to thinking about total employment of the DNR's of both states influencing license cost. But I can not locate any information that states the total DNR employment for either one. Just job openings from 40 to 140 k a year. Does anyone know how to find the numbers?
Onebentarrow.
I found indiana's dnr budget. It is 216 million + a year. Do not know just what that covers. Found out that taxes do not fund KY DNR just license and access funds. But no numbers on total budget.

I would figure it is because everything is expensive in NY. Wages and Healthcare for dnr personal. gas for vehicles and such. Insurance on structures. Supplies for offices. Any repair service for machinery or office equipment. You name it it cost more. Even the minimum wage for summer help is more. i won't go in to why I think things cost more. You cam probably figure that out on your owne Onebentarrow He’s comparing Indiana and Kentucky, not New York. No one wants to compare anything with new York. Okay, maybe California. My mistake. Do not know where I got NY

I understand your point, but my question is, why is it so much more expensive in IN vs KY, and what exactly are we getting with that extra money. Are we just pumping more money into bloated government bureaucracy? Making things worse? I would figure it is because everything is expensive in NY. Wages and Healthcare for dnr personal. gas for vehicles and such. Insurance on structures. Supplies for offices. Any repair service for machinery or office equipment. You name it it cost more. Only had 4 dogs my whole life. Don't want more than 1 at a time. 2 were strays 2 were acquired from family's that did not want them, both at 1 ish years old. Last dog lived 18 years . She was a Maltese named Shylee previous owners named her. First dog lived 16 years. He was a stray that came to work when I worked for Wayne Feeds. His name was Wayne. He was the best allarround dog. Followed standard commands like sit stay heal come. Was laid back, friendly and easy going. Both dogs in the middle were put down around 5 years old because of untreatable health problems. One a good mut named Rusty for her rusted color coat and the other a 6 lb tiny short Legged jack Russell that was real real laid back. Named Dasey per previous owners. All 4 were good dogs and spoiled rotten and have a place notched out of my heart. Funney how I still miss all 4 of them.

I am Interested in getting a lithion ion 100hr barrery for my boat. It is my understanding that they need to be charged at a higher current than a standard battery charger, thus you need to buy a special charger. Here is where the question comes from. I watched a guy set up a solar system to run lights in his shed and he used a lithium ion battery. So my thought is he will not get the high charge rate from the pannels that he would get from a special charger thus damaging his battery over time. Am I right, wrong, misinformed or just misunderstand what I have read or are there different kinds of lithium ion batteries used in different aspects depending on the available charging system
Onebentarrow
Thanks. I donot want to spend 2,3 hundred bucks and damage it usedng the wrong charger but I do not want to buy a special charger if I don't have to either

Can a felony be applied to a 16 yr old? And isn't it up to the county prosecutor to bring charges? It's not a mandatory thing, is it? (I would hope it was though.) Yes a 16 yr old can be charged with a felony… depending on the crime and judge. If the teacher was allowed to carry a gun should they be allowed to use a gun to stop this ? YES.
