This is why people are buying compact and youth 20g guns and shooting TSS out of them. Light gun and short barrel. Is TSS legal in Indiana? Last time I checked 7 1/2's were the minimum shot size for Indiana turkeys. You can shoot 7 1/2 TSS.

Headed to Kentucky in the morning to scout for the youth season that is next weekend. Haven't been down there in about 6 years, but I'm 3 for 3 on the last 3 trips down to the same area. Hit my old favorite spot in KY this morning to find out the local that lives in the last house on the access road to the WMA has decided to use the road as a parking lot. Couldn't get by, so we had to drive around and listen from the other side of the woods. Heard a couple and say a few in the fields amd then the rain moved in.

Has anyone showed up to the one (or two) meetings that have already taken place that were stakeholders other than deer hunters? Either to be on the panel or to speak?
From what I read in Wisconsin, which I am having a hard time finding that it is working as claimed, there are stakeholders on the panel. The only video from an Indiana meeting I watched was only deer hunters on the panel. I quit watching when that was announced.
That is not a CDAC. That is a bunch of deer hunters meeting.

I'd love to do some out of state turkey hunts, but I'm not nearly a good enough turkey hunter to commit to that. Turkeys are kind of my "blue unicorn," I hunt them every year but have yet to get one in the bag. How far are you from Evansville? I always have some time off during season.

KIlled my first bird ever in the low country of South Carolina. I've never hunted there. I got invited a couple of weeks ago, but I think they are going to be done before I get enough days off to drive there.

Florida youth hunt in 2 days.
After that it is wide open. Maybe South Carolina if my days off work out. Nebraska, Kansas or Oklahoma would be nice.

According to the DNR email the group would be pretty diverse if actually followed .... but just following the list will be difficult and if they actually do follow it I have a feeling that the input received will not be what they imagine it will be. In addition to local hunters, CDACs are expected to include representation from agriculture, forestry, local government, tourism, transportation, non-consumptive users, and a disease monitoring organization.I watched enough of the video to hear that all that attended were hunters.

Did you get the 11-87 in a youth 20G. I have been looking at those they are sweet looking at a little over 6 lbs. No. It's an 11-87 special purpose from 1993. I said spring foliage, but the called it Greenleaf. It's 12 ga 3"

Did you get your 870 done? No. Been too busy to take it and get it drilled and tapped. He's using his mossberg super bantam. I did pick up an original mossy oak spring foliage 11-87 during the convention in Nashville. It's pretty much ready to go

Not sure what tss is or where to buy them. I'm not really stuck on anything just trying to figure out where to start. The longbeards got pretty good reviews and I've been looking at some hevi shot. I obviously have some more research and some testing to do. I'm also looking at getting either a hs high density ported choke tube or carlson ported choke both are super full. Personally I would call Jeb's choke tubes and tell them the gun you have. They will sell you a choke to match the gun and shells you want to shoot or recommend shells for a given choke constriction. You get it amd shoot it amd see what you think. If you are not happy with the pattern they will send you a different choke for, I believe, the cost of shipping. No additional charges. The chance of not being happy with their suggestion is slim, because they really know their stuff. I have three of them on the way. One for a Browning gold, 870 and mossberg super bantam. If I decide to hunt with the 11-87 special purpose I just picked up in Nashville it will have a Jebs also.
