Something is happening. Seen two helicopters today flying low and one's that I have never seen. I know the sheriff and air-care helicopters. Flying south-southwest. I saw two fast moving helicopters flying close together today also they were 30 miles south of Fort Wayne heading towards it. Dark blueish in color, that was around 9am

WOW! I'd like to hunt where you hunt. We had does but all of them were yearlings at best & absolutely no bucks. Just thinking about this I didn't see much chasing or mating going on like years past. Do you think it could be because of the lack of mature does? Maybe but like what was stated earlier, a lot of things affect what happens in any certain area. Who knows maybe those young does will draw a bunch of bucks to your area next season.

I've not seen but 9 doe this year. 4 were on my camera at night behind my buddies house and 4 on my camera at the HNF at night and 1 that runs daytime and I'm still chasing her. I've only seen her a hand full of times this year and she is so stubborn she won't give me a shot at all, and I've only seen 3 bucks this whole year. A main frame 8 point, a heavy 11 point both on the same day, the button buck that the wife's uncle and I bagged in archery and a 3 point that I took behind my buddies house during gun season. Not sure what's going on, but I sure hope next season is a lot better than this year as far as the population goes. I don’t feel like the population is down in my area, maybe I’m seeing the same does on camera but it sure seems like there’s a lot of them. The area had great buck sign and I saw plenty of bucks during the rut but I didn’t see one doe being chased. Just seems odd to me.

This is the first season in over 30 yrs of hunting that I have not seen one doe while hunting, I have plenty on camera in the areas I hunt but have only seen bucks while hunting. Has anyone else experienced this.

Believe I would go with what the man in Green is saying and his past history! Exactly.......Couldn’t agree more, read just the last paragraph. It clearly states that hunter orange is not required.

Yep.... been like that from day one in antlerless season! IIRC, this question was asked of Morrison (our resident CO) and his answer was everyone had to wear it no matter if the county you are hunting in is in the “special antlerless season” or not. Whoever has the time and interest do a search.. I have no doubt that he said that, I also have no doubt that is not what is stated in the regulations. To say that makes absolutely no sense. You don’t have to wear it when squirrel season is in along with archery season but them later on you have to. I’m sorry but Morrison is wrong.

I’ll make it simple, hunter orange is required in any season that a firearm can be used to take a deer. If archery is the only deer season open then you are not required to wear it. Nope, it`s not that simple. In a county that is able to participate in the special antlerless firearms season, even archery hunters must wear orange. However, if you`re hunting late archery in a county that may not participate in the special antlerless firearms season, then hunter orange would not be required. Hello, that’s exactly what I said. I agree with you.

From the guide: Hunters, including those using archery equipment, must meet hunter orange requirements while hunting for deer during firearms (Nov. 16-Dec. 1, 2019), muzzleloader (Dec. 7-22, 2019) and special antlerless firearms (Dec. 26, 2019-Jan. 5, 2020) seasons. I'm pretty sure everyone must wear orange when hunting deer from Dec. 26, 2019-Jan. 5, 2020. The key words are special antlerless firearms or any firearm season. It doesn’t say anything about late archery, if the county that you are deer hunting isn’t one of the green counties then it is not required.

Hunter orange is required for your safety from other’s who are out hunting things that fly, run, and climb trees. Good luck and be safe. Exactly..... Don’t be breaking the Law! If I read it right, only county’s that are green require hunter orange during late archery season.

Can you claim a anterless deer with only a firearm license. No. Firearm license is antlered only. That’s what I was thinking, thanks.

. Maybe I’m misunderstanding you but in order to hunt in muzzleloader season with a muzzleloader you need a muzzleloader license also. Not if you have the Bundle pack. It covers you for the whole season. I understand that, he already stated that he only had a firearms license.

So after posing a question in which duff and whitetail got back with me looks like i"m done for the year. I can't really complain to much this is by far the most productive year I've ever had. Normally I would be lucky to see a deer, shooting at 1 would be unheard of. This year I was able to get 2 and potentially a 3rd, but that is for another time. Good luck to all who are still going out and be safe. Be sure to let someone know where you will be going in the event something happens. Looks like I'll be searching a recipe for tag soup as I do not have access to a muzzle loader. . Maybe I’m misunderstanding you but in order to hunt in muzzleloader season with a muzzleloader you need a muzzleloader license also.

I used to quite a bit and saw some nice deer but after I had my 5th stand stolen and a couple incidents of guys setting up 40 yds from me,I decided it wasn’t worth it. But to be fair I know guys that haven’t had any problems at all. My advice is to use a climber.

Do the state park hunts have a stand by opportunity for guys that didn’t get drawn.
