This is the first season in over 30 yrs of hunting that I have not seen one doe while hunting, I have plenty on camera in the areas I hunt but have only seen bucks while hunting. Has anyone else experienced this.

Just the opposite - I didn't see any bucks while hunting this year.
I'll throw a disclaimer in and admit I didn't get to get in the stands as much as I would've liked, thisyear ... but I was still able to arrow 2 does.

Has anyone else experienced this. Yes I have. It was 15 yrs ago in Madison County. I went from seeing 10 does a hunt and maybe 1 buck a season to seeing 8 bucks and 0 does my last season hunting there. The transition took 3 years. Yr 1 I was at a 1 to 1 ratio. Yr 2 2 bucks per 1 doe. I moved from the area and my uncle let others hunt there so dont know if it ever got better or worse.

I've not seen but 9 doe this year. 4 were on my camera at night behind my buddies house and 4 on my camera at the HNF at night and 1 that runs daytime and I'm still chasing her. I've only seen her a hand full of times this year and she is so stubborn she won't give me a shot at all, and I've only seen 3 bucks this whole year. A main frame 8 point, a heavy 11 point both on the same day, the button buck that the wife's uncle and I bagged in archery and a 3 point that I took behind my buddies house during gun season. Not sure what's going on, but I sure hope next season is a lot better than this year as far as the population goes.

I don’t feel like the population is down in my area, maybe I’m seeing the same does on camera but it sure seems like there’s a lot of them. The area had great buck sign and I saw plenty of bucks during the rut but I didn’t see one doe being chased. Just seems odd to me.

Been hunting the same spot for about a dozen years and it seems that we always see more antlerless than antlered.
This year was pretty slow by comparison to the last two, but we saw 4 antlerless and 4 antlered the entire firearms season from both stand sites combined.
Of course I put in a lot less time in the stand this year, too, because Abbie wanted to hunt and I wanted her to be the one to put meat in the freezer. So I only hunted one time before firearms season, so my deer sightings were also way down because of that.

I hunt in Washington, Harrison and Orange counties and have seen a dozen bucks and @ least 3-4 times that many antlerless deer during the hunting season this year.
Those three counties were among those hit by EHD this Summer during the drought, and I was surprised by how many deer I saw this season.

It depends on the time of year for the me and the property that the cameras are on. I will run the cam year round in 2020, I usually just put them out in late Sept thru end of Dec. I have many does on the cam and few bucks early Oct, the buck population seems to increase during the rut, at times more bucks than does. At one property, up to a dozen does could be seen per day when in the stand. All going one way, so I doubt that there are duplicate sightings of the same deer in that dozen.
Then as the hunting season progresses, and the bucks are shot, the ratio goes back to seeing way more does on cam compared to the bucks. Right now at one place I'd bet the ratio is 3-4 does/yearlings to 1 buck, and I have pictures of 3 different bucks.

I have a few properties I have permission to hunt that I know without a doubt if I chose when to hunt it would see no does or incredibly few....shoot even deer for that matter.
Some places merely don't or shouldn't see deer....for various factors from terrible habitat or terrible hunting habits on or around the main two reasons.

I should also add, this year both places I hunt still had standing corn when I was in the stand. One still does, and I'm not sure about the other. Travel patterns were different than normal, and not being able to see across the field obviously means less deer sighted.

Last year was extremely odd on the farm. 10 deer total were taken amongst all hunters. Nobody hunted the next property east. The trespassers were gone from 2 neighboring properties, and the big family that hunted the second property south were not there. Also friends of mine a couple miles dues East only saw 4 deer over 250 acres. We had beans everywhere around us last year.
This season was switched back to more normal. We had 3 deer taken off the farm, the neighboring properties had hunters again, my friends took 5 deer off their 250 acres, and we were surrounded by corn with some fields standing after Thanksgiving.
Things change from year to year. That's normal.

WOW! I'd like to hunt where you hunt. We had does but all of them were yearlings at best & absolutely no bucks. Just thinking about this I didn't see much chasing or mating going on like years past. Do you think it could be because of the lack of mature does?

Do you think it could be because of the lack of mature does? Maybe but like what was stated earlier, a lot of things affect what happens in any certain area. Who knows maybe those young does will draw a bunch of bucks to your area next season.

My view was limited to about 30 yds in all directions, instead of 30 yds one direction and 300-400 yds the other when the corn is out. I took 2 does early and didn't get out but once or twice after that.
