Friday after work I had planned on going over to my hunting area to make adjustments to my stand and to say hi and thank you to the land owner. When I pulled into her drive I noticed a car there that I didn't recognize,I got out of my truck and walked up to the house and a lady and her daughter came out and met me.I started to explain that I'm the guy that the land owner had allowed to hunt the property and that I hadn't seen the her over the summer so I was stopping by to say hi and to ask if it was still ok to hunt there. What came next caught me off guard and hit me like a ton of bricks, the lady which turned out to be the land owners gran-daughter informed me that the land owner had passed away earlier in the summer and that they were not sure what they were going to do with the property. I stood there stunned, trying to take all of this in. I didn't know the land owner very well,I saw her maybe three times a year but I haven't felt this hurt since my mother passed away a few years back. Sorry for the long post,I just wanted to get this off my chest. Like

What about Rousch Lake FWA. It covers two counties one has a quota of 4 the other has a quota of 1. Can I only hunt the part of Rousch that has a quota of 4 even though it just states Rousch Lake FWA in the guide. Nevermind,I went out tonight and they have signs posted at the check in boxes that state the special anterless firearm season is only allowed on the parts of Roush that are west of SR3

My processer said that they were only down about 30 from last yrs gun season. I brought mine to them on Monday morning around 11am and they had around 25 deer laying on the floor,I asked when did these come in and he said they all were brought in that morning. I guess Sunday must of been a good day to hunt. Maybe alot of people are using online check-in.

The place where I check my deer in always writes your name and what you checked in on a big board by the counter. They also keep records of previous yrs harvest numbers by season. During gun season they have averaged between 350-400 deer the last few yrs. When I checked my deer in on Monday I was number 113. They had double that in bow last year. I live in NE Indiana and I haven't heard of any weird diseases and I have a hard time believing the deer population has dropped off that much from last yr,so whats going on?

Had a great morning. Had a fawn come in and hang around for awhile just after first light then I saw three does out in the cut corn field, the first one came by me at 10 yds but she was kinda small then as the second and largest one started to come into range she must of saw me move or something because she started blowing, turned and trotted off but curiosity got the best of her because she came back trying to figure out what I was. I wasn't going to give her a chance to get me again. I hit her in the center of her chest as she stood looking at me,she didn't run 20yds before she dropped. Then 12 more deer ran out into the field just looking around. After they crossed the field 3 more ran out but this time it was 2 bucks chasing a doe, nothing special a spike and a small 8pt.After they left,a small forky came in from a different field with his nose to the ground and walked past me at 20yds.He went off in the direction the other bucks and doe went. All of this happened before 9am. I guess this makes up for not seeing much the last 5 hunts.

I would like to appolize for my behavior. And thank you for reminding me that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. And to try and stop being so judgmental of everyone. Lonnie

You need a deer license, the youth needs an apprentice youth consolidated hunt/trap license. The youth can take either a buck or a doe but not both(if the youth shoots a buck he or she can not shoot a buck during the regular deer seasons). During the reg. deer seasons follow the regular deer season rules.
