I use a 4 wheeler,I only hunt private property and before I even go I make sure the land owner doesn't mind. I wouldn't make it 20 yards trying to drag 1 anymore.

I use to hunt evenings a lot but didn't have near the luck I did in the morning so I don't hunt evenings much anymore.

Do you think that legislators intended for it to be if you were actually using the handgun to hunt with? Two things lead me to believe so. One, until this law passed, a person needed at the minimum a "hunting & target practice" handgun permit to hunt with a handgun. This permit type was discontinued due to the above law. Second, can anyone explain why anytime you are carrying a handgun in public you must have a handgun license, but suddenly if you are hunting something that does not require a handgun, you can carry it without a license? If that were the case, everyone could simply say that they are on their way to a hunting activity and have no need for one. I still stand by my statement that I believe the statute to be poorly worded and not the intent. One last thought, if you are on your own property or have the property owner's permission, you don't need a handgun license anyway. My point is you do not need a permit for ANY weapon you hunt with so why would a handgun be singled out !!!!!! You are right, but he WASN'T HUNTING WITH IT!!!! You don't need a permit to carry a rifle, bow or shotgun ANYTIME but you do a handgun except when doing a HUNTING ACTIVITY.. Handguns are singled out everyday.

I was under the impression if you had a sidearm on you while hunting that you needed a permit. They have "hunting permits" for handguns, not just personal protection permits, unless it's changed over the years. They done away with the hunting and target permit. Oh,ok

My apologies to the working class; no offense intended. It made me feel like when I was young and the older kids didn't want to play with me. These old fellas just didn't want to play with the younger retired like bill and me. I've been humbled again. Me and the Mrs. aren't old and not retired per se,but we don't worrk either (disabled)...so if we weren't on a team already,I wouldn't know if we qualified for your team or not

Me and the Mrs. are in. Since the Mrs. would give us too many on our team The Lucky 5 Freezer Fillers we may need to be put on another team, depends on what the other team members do. That's no problem though. no worries I will give her my spot on the team Thanks..Still haven't heard from hunthard4 though.

Thanks trapperdave. I wouldve put a few more down but I got cocky one day and took my 22 victory out and missed two that would've been easy pickings for the marlin. I don't know how people hunt squirrels with a handgun!lol It's fun,I've taken lots over the years with a handgun,in fact, that's what I'm using this year and have 3 already. Course, I've only been out twice, didn't see any the last time I was out. Planning on going either tomorrow or Thurs. weather permitting.
