I was just sitting on the deck and enjoying a cold one after a long day of home improvement and there were at least five in my two hickories. Cuttings were falling like rain! I've never really thought too much about evening hunts since it is so damn hot around here until October.
Lucky for them that I could only verify five, which is what I have determined as the carrying capacity for my yard. Any more than five at one time, I grab a pellet gun and thin the herd.

I start work at 5am, so evenings happen a lot for me. Especially since we are back to 7 days a week. Just like deer, they get pretty active the last hour or two. If you can find a tree they are actively using, just have a seat and wait.

I use to hunt evenings a lot but didn't have near the luck I did in the morning so I don't hunt evenings much anymore.

Historically mornings have been better for me; I saw zero activity this morning.

I'll hunt them any time of day if it isn't hot, but I've always done best in the early am.
