We fought the hordes tonight to get some groceries, and celebrated our youngest daughters birthday at the Mexican restaurant.
Worst case, we lose power and eat sandwiches. We all have 0* sleeping bags so no worries about staying warm.

I don't like French toast.
Like every major snow event, I will believe it when it's on the ground.

I love the accuracy of the Farmers Almanac. Often times for our area.. cold, with periods of snow. 🤣 SPOT ON

Listened to a local forecaster Bamx Weather.
He said most will get 3 to 8 inches, but he said the problem is that 3 inches or 8 with the wind the drifts will be insane.

I am dreading it for sure. I got the snowblower juiced up and ready to roll. The ol 10,000W Generac fired up on the first pull. I got my hay Wagon Blind brought home and removed the cover and padded flooring. I got one ground blind taken down on my other permission piece. I'm going to try and get my blind tomorrow from the farm next to J/P. It's tucked in there pretty good but, I still don't know if it'll survive.
Bought some milk and bread earlier today as well and filled up 3 5gallon gas cans.
Tomorrow's things to do are get the secondary firewood box brought inside and filled. Plug the chicken lamp in under the house by the bladder tank (I won't have time Thursday before the rain).

I'm in the 10-15" likely scenario map. Just west of the 17" on the high end map. I say, BRING IT ON! Tractor and plow ready, snowblower ready, Carhartts ready, firewood full, work on speed dial for when I cant make it in. Lol 🤣😙🤣😙🤣

As one who works for a public water utility company,,,,,,,I am dreading the artic temps that are heading our way I'll be the one getting some of those calls. I ask them if the water smells it's us, if it doesn't better call the water district.

I already put my vacation day in for Friday. The snow doesn't bother me but the ice under it does. I wanted to take a day off to spend with the kids anyway. Now we just need a few groceries and gas for the generator.
It's an hour drive to work on a good day. It's taken me over 3 hours to get home because of snow before.

I’ll be headed in on Friday and on standby for Saturday. Essential personnel gotta go in. Made plans to stay closer to work Thursday night. Shorter drive.

Generator question for you all.
I keep my stored in the shop which is about 200 feet from the house. I have built a cover for it. Just 2 walls a a roof, I left the ends open so I can breathe. With all the snow and wind predicted, would I be better off getting it set up on my back porch before the storm hits or, will that flash freeze prevent me from being able to start it?
