More inflation, but not a surprise.

Of course I don’t like spending any more than I already do, but it was definitely time for an increase. What else can you say hasn’t increased in price for the last 15 years. Nothing I can think of. Did some quick math and came up with a new cost of $166 for what I normally buy in a year. Still not bad for the enjoyment I get from being out there.

With the increase I’m getting in social security I should be able to absorb those prices with no problem.

Not necessarily something that is completely out of left field. But was there any actual input from us outdoorsmen and women? Or was this just the numbers that the DNR heads came up with? Also, I know this will probably be a little controversial to some, but I think it is absolutely ridiculous for them to almost double to out of state bundle license.

All you read is there are less and less hunters so less and less licenses purchased. You would think to attract out of state hunters you would keep licenses in line. It will be interesting next year and see if the impact of the near double of out of state license. I do believe a lot of the non residents are of older age. See how many stop hunting altogether. Most are on fixed incomes and double will put a dent and strain on justifying to purchase.
The state also losses with less non resident hunter. Housing, gas, food and hunting supplies. Not attracting hunters is a loose-loose.

They just pushed my Non-Resident grandson to be a buck only deer hunter while he is hunting with me..

I don’t think doubling the price will stop many from still hunting here. Most know what this state produces each year and they want in on that action. Plus you don’t have to get drawn to hunt. Wonder how many actually buy the bundle anyways.

Explain why the outstate bundle shouldn’t double! Why? I believe in fairness to all hunters.. The DNR is raising our bundle license by 40% and the NR bundle by 86%. That percentage should be equal across the board. You want Indiana to get in a bidding war with other states? Sooner or later they will price out all NR hunters BOTH WAYS!

Also, I know this will probably be a little controversial to some, but I think it is absolutely ridiculous for them to almost double to out of state bundle license. Yep... They just pushed my Non-Resident grandson to be a buck only deer hunter while he is hunting with me.. My best friend and I have hunted every year together since we both got out of the military. He lives in Tennessee now and, even though it’s much cheaper to hunt in state, he has still been here every year and we’ve had many great memories. With this price increase, it may make it too much for him to justify the travel, the license, the process fee, and all that goes into two or three weekends of hunting. I hope that is not the case, but that is very possible. Greg Hopper - if you look at the increases for nonresidents, it appears as though they specifically targeted nonresident deer hunters. Turkey fee only increased 55 dollars. The game bird stamp for a nonresident did double but it is still only 11 dollars. That means an out of state turkey hunter is going to pay 200 bucks and get one bird. An out of state deer hunter is going to pay 550 and get three deer. Kentucky, you pay 335 and get three deer or 315 and get three turkeys. Ohio, little over 200 dollars and you get two turkeys. For deer, I believe it is 260 and some change and you get two deer. Both are neighboring states, both have similar or better hunting, and both have more public land available. Why do we think we should charge more?

Both the Resident and NR firearm (antlered deer only) went up about the same percentage. Thats the way it should be. The NR bundle % increase is where it's out of line,
