I personally don’t mind, I gut, put my tag on, check them in online and then start dragging. I was just curious if there was any clarification on it.

I check mine in and have the email and screenshot of the confirmation number on my phone. The only time I use a temp tag is if I don't have cell service to check in, or if I am not in possession of the deer. At that point the temp tag has just the confirmation number on it.

Yes, a temp tag should stay with the deer at all times until “processing” begins. Even if you check it in online, you just add that confirmation number to the temp tag and keep it with the deer.
