I traded my recently-acquired .357 Maximum Handi-Rifle frame and barrel yesterday for a .308 Winchester version (I kept my stock set that Genesis 27:3 had dipped for me.) This will be my back-up rifle, for use when the weather is bad. (I have no idea why the photo is upside down. It was right on my phone, and I tried unsuccessfully to flip or rotate it on hunt101.com.) I have one now in 308 too. Got a less than a hundred in the gun. Put a new vortex 3-9×40 scope on it last week. It has a ATI m4 stock. Plus the barrel has been threaded with a muzzle brake. Love to find a used can for it. Taking it out to sight it in this weekend.

I've got WAY more than that in mine. Lol! I traded even, but I'd spent $100 getting the rifle I traded reamed. If I don't count that loss, I have $400 in it as pictured! I, too, will probably go with a Vortex. I bet yours is a sweet rig.

308 Now we're talking! What brand? I contemplated buying one of the new DPMS G2 versions, since they are smaller framed and lighter, but ended up going with the Remington 700 instead. I've owned an ArmaLite AR-10 and a Larue Tactical OBR 7.62 in the past, but they are long gone.

My buddy has the new G2 version and he likes it a lot. He has both 5.56 and 7.62.

Are suppressors legal for hunting in Indiana? For some reason I am thinking they are not?? I could very well be wrong.

You know I will probably stick with my Encore 358 Hooiser it shoots less than an inch at a 100 yards, is nice and compact and the 358 is devastating on anything I have ever shot with it. But, I may on a whim take the M1 out and take a doe with it.

I can't post any pictures because it's not a done deal yet. That will be sometime around July, I believe. I'll just have to wait until then.

My new Remington V3 12 gauge. 28" barrel. Vortex Diamondback scope. Takes 2.75" and 3" shells. Edit to add: I can't justify buying a new rifle when I have 3, if legal that will do the job. BUT, I can always justify a new shot gun.

My third or fourth Vortex. Can't beat them for the price and quality. Always owned Leupold and Nightforce and then learned about Vortex. They can meet the high end price points but still create good value at lower price points. I have Swarovski on my best rifles but if I didn't buy them used I wouldn't (or shouldn't) own them. LOL! Same for the Nightforce.

Woody, you are all set for "when the deer come running."
I am reminded of an American Rifleman article about the Korean War in which an advancing Chinese army would do an unintended massive deer drive.
