Don't disagree with the above. But wasn't the topic of the thread. Merely was relaying his experience for other's to consider.

Besides the weight issue, the probability of a doe having such developed fetus in her would really throw me off. But.... They do eat lambs (or maybe it's goats or cows) that are fetus stage

The fetus is just an unviable deer ... little. Lightweight.
And because they are little and lightweight they actually weigh less than most other deer.

Getting freaked out over the experience seemed a pretty normal reaction to me .... obviously its not so normal to some even though they may have a difficult time expressing themselves on the matter. Its okay though ....

60% of the time they'll be lighter than heavier deer every time.

always thought the late antlerless season was a terrible idea from the inception. Honestly can't think of one good thing about it, unless the deer population is out of control like eagle creek or brown county.

Do you see the difference, from a mental standpoint, of a man's opinion of killing a young deer vs a man killing a deer that has unborn deer inside it? Like I said, neither scenario bothers me but it is easy for me to understand how some folks might not want to look at a mutant deer inside their deer as they gut it. Of course I can also understand how some folks don't want to shoot a juvenile deer either....easiest deer in the woods to kill. Not much meat. Yadda yadda yadda ... Yes, I can see the difference, but like you, neither scenario bothers me.

A simple answer to a simple question. I like it. No dancing and spinning around.

I would like to see an early to mid September season open in Indiana like it does in several other states.

Early September archery is just about the only change I'd ever say I was "for". Always wanted the opportunity to kill a velvet buck in my home state.

I felt bad about when I first shot a doe with fetuses. I was over it by next winter and hunting the late season again, and will continue doing so.
Also, you can cut out the "late season" and you'll have the same result.
