I could (if I still lived in Indiana) use for Deer, my .458 X 2" AMERICAN built on a Remington M-722 Action. All I'd have to do is shorten cases back to 1.8" use 300 grain Hollow Point or Pointed soft point Bullets.

Doesn't anyone use a shotgun anymore??? Shotgun??? What's that! Yes I take my slug gun out every now & then but mostly use my .300 Blackout AR pistol. It is lighter more accurate & much easier to carry.

Is that 300 Blackout in photo still considered a pistol when it has a butt stock?

Is that 300 Blackout in photo still considered a pistol when it has a butt stock? That is an arm brace. BATFE says they are still pistols when outfitted as such.

Yes I get asked that all the time. The BATF says as long as it is NOT shot from the shoulder it is considered a brace. I also have a video set up the attaches to the quad rail for doing a video of my hunt. Sorry for the blurry picture it was taken with my cell phone.

My number one Indiana deer gun - Ruger .44 Mag tube fed Carbine. Topped with a Nikon 3 - 9 My deer gun when I hunted Illinois - My Predator dipped Remington 870 with rifled cantilever barrel topped with a Nikon 2 -7. I swap barrels and it is my go to turkey gun. Past deer guns - - Ithaca Deerslayer II. Fixed, rifled barrel. Drilled and tapped, but is open sights right now. It’s pretty well a safe Queen. Thompson Center Omega in stainless steel with a laminated thumbhole stock. Topped with a 3 – 5 Thompson Center scope. It has been pretty well a safe Queen too as I am usually tagged out by muzzleloader season. I haven’t hunted with it in about 6 o 7 years. My old side hammer muzzleloader that took it’s fair share of deer. A .50 caliber Thompson Center Hawken. Open iron sights.. My first MZ..

TC Impact did the job last year so I expect the same this year.
Also have a 357 with 8in barrel if I feel lucky.

These are my 2 main choices for deer hunting. The top is a circuit judge .45 Colt that I've shot a couple deer with. I really like the size and lack of recoil. Next, is my 870 magnum scoped with a rifled barrel. I haven't used it in years, but I am getting it back out this year! EDIT: Sorry, it uploaded upside down.

Strange you posted this; I haven't hunted with my 870 since I bought my first Encore handgun in 30-06 - that was a year or two before the rifles came in. JDUB had it out last weekend to shoot it once. I may have to take it out once or twice just for old time sake as well.

It was ten years ago this November my parents bought me the 870 for my 21st birthday. I use this gun a lot for dove hunting with a smooth bore on it. However, I think the ten year reunion is a good time to put some sabot's in the air

Mine is a savage 110 chambered in 358 Hoosier. It was assembled by M&S Armament. The barrel is from BFG Designs and came stainless. I put a Boyd's thumbhole stock on it and a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 bdc scope on top. It is a tack driver and a lot of fun to shoot. I'm ready to to sit on the edge of the field with it again! Good luck this season.
