If I make it past archery season without getting my buck...out comes the muzzleloaders. Both of these are .50, have a couple 45s that will likely see the woods this year too I like your ML's.

My typical gun set up is still my bow in most seasons....very very rarely you'll see me with a ML or 44mag revolver in hand, but not usually.

Doesn't anyone use a shotgun anymore??? I've never used a shotgun, well take that back, there was one day many moons ago that my Super Blackhawk was acting up and I did borrow dad's 12 gauge for 1 hunt but I didn't see anything.

My favorite is a custom Savage Model 10 Weather Warrior, chambered in .358 BFG. It is the 1.625 length cartridge. I like the Barnes 200 grain tipped .358 bullet. I am zeroed at 200 yards and it shoots under 2 inches at that range. I have hunted with this rifle and load for 4 or 5 years and it has never let me down. I have several kills over 200 yards, the farthest at 275 and the closest at 5 yards.

I use shotguns. Winchester Super X2 with a Leupold 4x scope and a Remington 870 Super Magnum with a rifled barrel topped with a Vortex Diamondback scope at 4x12-40. I have a second barrel for the 870 for turkeys. I also have a Ruger 44 mag. Don't like it and don't use it. That is just me. Not being critical of the gun or caliber. Just doesn't work for me For pics go here: hunt-indiana.com/thread/53955/genesis-busy-shotguns

I have used a savage ml 10 for good while now with 47 gr 5744 and a barns 250 grain bullet. Shoots around 2400 fps. I have no pictures of this gun but if I can get one of these died in I will use it. They are custom built smokeless 45 cal mls that will shoot from 2000 to 3000 feet depending on how and what you load and shot

Yes, very handy. My Ruger Model 77/.44 Mag. wears a NECG brand peep sight for the Ruger M-77/44. It's fine for hunting in thick woods or brush areas, but my .308 does a better job. My Brother used it a couple days the first year we moved here. He ended up shooting his 8-point Buck with my Ruger M-77 .270 @ 180 yards. I'd like to see a photo of those guns. I don't know what a NECG peep sight is, but this should not surprise anyone. If I get a chance, I'll take a photo of my Rugers today.

Marlin 1894,factory wood finish removed, over 20 coats of Culvers' Magic Paste [1/3 bees wax,1/3 oderless mineral spirits, 1/3 pure tung oil] gently rubbed in [beads water] .44 mag.,22.0 gr. 2400, CCI#300, Hornady 240gr. XTP, Mule Man large lever, Nikon 2.5x10 with Butler Creek lens covers, Wild West Guns trigger, Galco ammo pouch. sighted in for dead on at 50 yds, it is dead on at 100. Perfect for the hills and hollers of South East Indiana. That's my initials on the butt, burned in with a branding iron, had to make the set up kind of personal.

I use a Marlin 1894ss in .44 with a Nikon Pro-Staff scope. I wrap it in McNett camo form. It is a non adhesive product that clings to itself, not the gun. It protects the gun and provides some concealment. It is sighted in at 50 yards. I only use the cheap Winchester ammo. I tried like hell to use the fancy Hornady lever gun ammo, but my rifle simply did not like it whatsoever.
I made the switch from the shotgun for two very simple reasons - ammo cost and recoil. I firmly believe in practicing with your weapon of choice. To take 20 shots with a slug gun shooting a good sabot, it would cost well over $50 and my shoulder would be that sickening color mix of blue and yellow for a week! I can buy a box of 50 for my .44 at about $40. At 20 practice rounds and a few harvested deer, a box will last me two years and no shoulder pain at all.

I have a 44 Mag Handi Rifle and it shoots tacs at 100 yards with a good scope. The winchester hollow points are my go to but the hornady shoot well also. It was confirmed that handirifles are no longer in production from NEF this year...get em while you can.

.358 WSSM built on a Savage Edge. Encore 45/70 barrel converted to smokeless muzzleloader. Pics from 2014. Also have an H&R .35 Remington that I don't have a pic of and I am currently compiling parts for another smokeless muzzleloader on a Remington 700ML action this time. Love my meat getters!!

I have a new hero.
I'd really like to get a .450BM in a Rem R-15 VTR hunter camo. I wonder how many people frown on using a gun like this?
