If it has wheels and a motor I'm a fan. Racing is a sport. Everything else is just a game. ..... BTW.... you see the Helio Castroneves wreck today at INDY ? Link t.co/qq6sQRuZWW Glad to see him walk away. The shot of the inboard camera looked like it was a ride.

Am I the only one who finds it somewhat depressing that the punishment for Tom Brady being "generally aware" deflating footballs (4 game suspension) is more severe then the original punishment for Ray Rice beating his wife on video camera unconscious? (2 game suspension)
That's really messed up.

The Football Team from New England is being hit hard because of their prior offenses and Brady got extra because he refused to cooperate with the investigation. Your point about Rice is well-taken. However, as despicable as Rice's actions were, they did not screw with the possible integrity and outcome of actual football games. This incident with The Football Team from New England had the potential to impact the game on the field...like the Bountygate situation with the Saints. Leagues DO NOT put up with that.

So, Greg are you saying it is okay to beat your wife as long as you apologize for it afterwards?
I also see your point, Met, but I disagree that allowing players to play the game that beat their wives also does not effect the integrity of the football game. In fact I find that much more unappealing then what Tom Brady did by being "generally aware." At least I could be left alone in a room with Tom Brady and not be concerned for my safety.
As for refusal to cooperate... that's another sticky situation and also a little messed up that refusal to cooperate by remaining silent warrants a punishment. The right to remain silent is a 5th amendment right. I realize that this is the NFL police and not actually being pursued in court (unless I am mistaken), but one would think that allowing someone to practice that right in the NFL would be reasonable. The first thing an attorney will advise you to do if you under investigation for something is to remain silent, even if you are innocent.

I agree with you that the Rice situation was mishandled badly the first time around. At least they got it right eventually.

He knocked her out cold and dragged her limp body out of the elevator and left her on the floor. I guess her glass jaw is the only thing that kept it from becoming a "beating"?

If I am out cold, I don't think it matters what you call it.

Pats have filed a rebuttal to Well's report. Claims that the e-mail in which the equipment guy referred to himself as the "deflator" meant he was trying to lose weight. You gotta be kidding!! Cheapened the rest of the rebuttal, which actually was on point

Cheapened the rest of the rebuttal, which actually was on point That part was pretty silly....silly enough to effect the credibility of the rebuttal. The rest made reference to gauges, pressure reading differences, atmospheric conditions and ideal gas law. The science behind the various possibilities. Sounds familiar.

I'm sure that the same atmospheric pressure was present and the same gauges were used on the Colts balls..
Again I ask, why allow teams to bring their own balls? They should be supplied by the NFL with only officials handling them at any time..

Read the Wells report. All of it. All the possibilities are spelled out in the report. What happened lies somewhere among those possibilities.

But then the Colts wouldn't have anyway to ruin the Patriots if they still keep winning after all methods to cheat have been removed. :-P

NFL source is saying Roger Goodell will hear Tom Brady's appeal. This is really huge and unexpected development in case.......

NFL source is saying Roger Goodell will hear Tom Brady's appeal. This is really huge and unexpected development in case....... That doesn't pass the smell test. Ought to have an independent arbitrator or judge. Goodell has too much personally invested in this (reputation and $1 million for the Well's report). Not to mention the, at one time, very close relationship with Kraft. Goodell has bungled so many things over the last year (Peterson, Rice, initially ignoring the Colts' claim) that it is hard for me to understand how he is worth $30 million plus per year in salary......
