Pre graduation present before the price increase! It is such a relief to go out and hunt whatever you want with what ever legal means is available. I would hate to know how much money I would have spent by now on all the deer, turkey and duck stamps.

Woody posted: I agree. However I don't think there is all that many young people (under age 21) that are interested in the Sport of Hunting, for one reason or another. For example, I have a Nephew "Zach" who rather play hunt on a computer then actually go hunting. Many of his friends are like that too. It is vastly different, then when we were growning up, Woody. I am just wondering what is going to happen when the holders of Lifetime Licenses quit hunting, due to age or other reasons. An annual "Sportsman License" is a good Idea. Your probably right about the youth of today playing computer games inside instead of going outside and doing things. However its the parents fault for letting there Kids just sit in front of a tv screen all day. I'd sure love to see a sportsman license since I don't have a L.L. I'm torqued I didn't buy a LL when I had a chance.

I've had my life time comprehensive since 1999... I've had my lifetime trapping since 2003... And I got my son his lifetime comprehensive in 2003... He is 13 now and will never have to buy a hunting or fishing license... My daughter passed her hunters safety and I went to get hers and they were disconntinued... Keep the faith... Rock on fellow hunters...

I bought my grandson one on his 1st birthday, he will turn 18 this year. It won't take too many more years before it pays for itself.

They are Federal and not covered by the IN LTL at least thats the way I think it is. If not I have been spending money for a stamp that I didn't need for several years since I got my LTL.

bad thing is i believe it is kansas, i may have wrong state you can buy a nonresident lifetime lic. still. Why are most other states still selling LTL's if you lose so much money each year.

Did you mean "resident lifetime license." I don't know of any states that sell "lifetime non-resident licenses". The Kansas lifetime licenses are:Lifetime Hunting License: $442.15 (Residents Only) Lifetime Hunting & Fishing Combination License: $882.15 (Residents Only) Lifetime licenses here are a double edged sword. The DNR has lost money on them since the monies that were deposited in the LL fund is not drawing near as much interest as it was when the LL first came out. I guess they did not look for a future reduction in interest rates. The other side of the coin is that the lifetime license holder & landowners are killing a lion's share of deer. No extra expense to shoot more. I don't think the DNR would do near as good as they are in deer herd population control if everyone was still buying yearly tags at $24 a pop.. You do raise a good question in how some other states can do it and we can't.
