It makes no sense to not use the technology available to both save money and make the biologist and CO's jobs easier thru instant feedback via the computer generated system.
Use technology to its fullest advantage and ditch the burdening paper chase......

'I see on one of the other message boards where this doom and gloom is coming from about the money woes. Doom and gloom is right. This is the same two that were spreading the same doom and gloom over the PCR legalization. The one guy even went so far as to say that counties would shut off all hunting if PCRs were legalized ( BOO! )and even said he would make sure that the county politicians would be informed on these "RIFLES" being used in their counties.. Did that happen? N-O-O-O-O. Now he is saying that “Telecheck doesn't make hunting better or worse. It just cheapens the importance of the game animal and lessens hunter attitude.” Give me a break, please! Telecheck is AFTER the hunt. It has NOTHING to do with the hunt and certainly does not “cheapen the importance of the animal” in the eyes of the hunter that took that animal. These better than thou hunters just flat me off. A position is morally bankrupt when all one can fall back on is fear tactics. It didn't work on the PCRs and wont work on telecheck either..

OK......I guess I'm gonna chime in.
What saddens me about telecheck is the fact that I have the metal tag for every deer I have killed since I started deer hunting.
With that said, I can see the need for the state to use the most effecient means for checking animals. I know we have a shortage of conservation officers and I guess it's a waste of time for them to be going to all the check stations to collect data.
I can accept telecheck if it passes and I can accept it if it dont.
Anyone know how much the state spends on the metal tags each year?.....the paper log books and distribution / collection of them?
Anyone ever had a check station complain when they checked their deer?
