Never gonna happen, but I was just curious. Why the .35 or bigger when smaller calibers will do the job nicely?

You need a "don't care either way" answer, because that's how I feel. I don't think we need HPR's, but I'd use one if we could, at least for a while. I think it would take something away from deer hunting here in Indiana's woodlots.

I have no problem opening it up; but like huxbux said it's not going to happen so it really doesn't matter. The PCR change was more important than adding anything else now.

Of course it won't happen now, but maybe in a few years.
I selected BP cartidges, but I would modify that slightly to cartridges developed a BP cartridges. For example the 45/70 was first a BP cartridge. Just wishful thinking.

All of the .35 or bigger seem to fall into the mid range rifles that are also excellent deer cartridges. This would clear up any confusion in the regulations now with the cartridge dimensions.

As long as my shotgun and muzzleloader are legal I am just fine with the way things are.

We already use CFR cartridges for varmit and coyote hunting .Its all a feel good law for most part now !The stuff we use now is no less lethal at long range or any less dangerous if handled improperly .Its a symantics issue at this point.I say make 243 or higer legal and be done with all the footing as it were!

I would like to see the 10mm added to the handgun list. Since the .357 mag is legal the 10mm definately should be as well.

I wouldn't mind a high powered season at all. We can already use them for coyotes if we choose, and they are legal for deer crop depredation permits in the summer, so why not in deer firearms season? Plus, my .270 Encore pistol is legal now, so what is the difference if a .270 long gun was permitted?

Why?, I personally have never ran into a predator hunter while deer hunting, not to say others have. However I have ran across many deer hunters while deer hunting. There are many places I would not deer hunt if I knew the orange army were packing CFR's. Just my opinion.

You are in the same danger with the current legal firearms as you would be with center fire rifles. Limiting the choices does not make dumb arses any less dumb or you any safer. Right now someone can be legally hunting with a 30.06 pistol in a tree stand without any sort of rest and you feel safe?

However I don't think CF pistols are the majority weapon being used today. I do feel that if all CFR were legalized that would become the majority weapon. Now I'm really scared. I will always vote against it but I'm just one vote.

It always astonishes me how folks on forums think they are above the rest of the hunters as far as safety and ethics go. ;D
