My wife seen what is probably the last bear of the year, thats 18 bear seen by just us two. Not including what has been on the game camera's. I think next year I will put some camera's out on a couple hard to get to beaver dams. These are like highways to all critters. I will post whatever pictures I get over the summer. That would be cool. You'd get to see all sorts of critters!!

Going out now but it's hot enough I may just butcher on the spot to keep the flies off, so if I post photos it will probably just be squirrel legs in bags. We might trust your word without photos. Wait till you get older and you actually "forget" to take them. 😇 lol Speaking of which, do you have a lenght/weight on the Smallies?

The war is over and hopefully, all labs shutdown, but I know some got moved to Romania. No more laundering of money to the cabal. See if this moves to Romania and or will Romania shut it down to prevent war. If the war is over, then we don't need to send any more $$ to them. Yeah right. Believe that and I have a bridge that I can sell you.

My cousin was a wrestler in high school and college. 6-3, 320#. He was on the Olympic team and blew his knee out. He never was the same after that, the knee limited his physical activity a bit but he still ate the same. at one time I believe he was 550#. Doc said you gotta lose 200# before we can operate on your knees and hips (both were bad) He did drop the weight to have the surgery done but he put about half back on after surgery and he died 5 years ago. Owning a hunting lodge and sitting at the bar every night drinking scotch didn't help things any.....
As long as Luke keeps up with the healthy eating and exercise he will be fine. I wish he was in BB instead of FB though.

I have a pair of Danner boots, I forget exactly what model but they are great. I got them in the early Spring, wore them as much as I could to break them in before going out there. Get leather, not fabric boots. If you are ever in cactus country, the leather will protect your feet better than fabric. Goretex is my friend, it has kept my feet dry when my buddies feet were wet.

So, getting one with the vehicle doesn't count, ? Dang. Got a yearling doe tonight. I have a dent in the front bumper and she's got a broken head.

I'm always worried about driving down a country road and having one hit the windshield. If I can, I drive on the opposite side of the road "just in case".

Equipment: Great glass. Spotting scope, binoculars, rangefinder. You will be looking for elk up to over a mile away, so make sure the spotting scope is of good quality. Find a flat spot here and look at something a mile away through it. If it isn't clear, it won't be good enough. If backpacking in, think ounce savings wherever you can. I bought a carbon fiber tripod for my spotting scope.
Temp swings in the mountains can be huge. We hunted the Greys River area for Mule Deer the first week in Sept a few years ago. We would have below freezing temps at night and daytime temps in the low 90's. The elk were bugling and in the dark timber 1/2 hr after sunrise, so a person elk hunting had to be up above them before that. A great headlamp with long battery life or a way to recharge the batteries would be good.
I can't stress enough the conditioning you will need to be in, and plan on drinking at least 4 liters of water a day. My buddy didn't and the first night he had leg cramps all night and couldn't sleep. Altitude = longer cooking time. He thought he could boil water like at home for coffee, I took instant and just had to warm the water.
If I was going out there now I'd plan on getting there 2-3 days in advance just to get used to the altitude.

Yes, at least I believe so. At the time it was a HUGE one upmanship game between the USA and Russia and while we didn't get the first person in space, we landed on the moon first. Maybe Woody can explain the political climate at that time better, I wasn't very old then. Then there's this:

Yes or no: Did we land on the moon? Define "we". LOL

Is there much SSS on the wolves up there? If Minnesota is like Northern Wisconsin, they are like large coyotes.............

$2.89/gallon vs $4.29/gallon for diesel has something to do with the food prices...... What do you eat that isn't transported by something using diesel fuel?
