Had lots of action this morning. 4 bucks and 1 doe. I think I am gonna hunker down in a valley this afternoon and then move to a stand later in the day

What a beautiful morning. action started off slow but by mid morning heated up. Had a 2.5 yr old 10 pt. bird dogging a doe and 15 min's later had 2 different shooter's romancing 2 other doe's. Both were 80 yd's away and all I could do was watch through binoc's as they woohed their ladies. Breeding has started. Wish I could have stayed out all day but had to get down at 11 for work commitment. Good luck. I will be back down on Friday night. This is gonna be a long couple days!

Only saw one deer this morning. Luckily it was a decent buck and he didn't make it past my stand. I'll post some pics after all the work is done. Hurry up and finish the work so we can see pics!

I believe Sunday is going to be the best day. We have high winds forcasted for Friday and Saturday but Sunday morning is going to be cold with a high of only 50 and an E 5 mph wind.
I think after two really windy days a calm sunday is going to be filled with lots of movement

At least someone is excited. LOL! For the first time in 20 seasons, I just can't seem to get into it. I'm even packing a brand new bow and still have a hard time hitting the woods. Both 4.5 year old bucks from last year failed to make a camera appearance this year, so that has me bummed a little. But, the rut can certainly bring something from somewhere else, so it's not a totally lost cause. I guess I just need to pull myself up by my bootstraps. LOL! Good luck, everyone! Of all the bucks I've ever killed, there were only 2 that I had prior photographic evidence of. That's part of the excitement for me. I love the thought of a big buck I didn't know existed popping out of nowhere. That's what fills my dreams at night! I hear ya on that Met!

Nice pics. With the weather this weekend and the pre rut activity starting to heat up this is shaping up to be a potentially awesome weekend. Definitely going to make the week go by slow that's for sure

Little slower this morning but did see a spike and a 2.5 yr old 9 pt (100") crusing, plus a few young does. Warmer types and wind should slow it down some but still think from WED on, after this front moves through should get everything going full . Temps are forcasted to drop into low 30's for several days. Weather.com has the high for Saturday as 48 with a low of 32. Should be a great weekend to be in the woods.

Hunted last night and had a small buck chasing a doe not far from me. Starting to heat up as I also am getting reports from friends that they are seeing young deer chasing. Still a week away IMO for the big guys. Good then that means I timed my 4 day weekend @ the end of October just right.

The bucks may be more active earlier and display rut activity but I am guessing the ladies will still come into estrus around the same time so that might make for some tired bucks if they get fired up alittle early.

As stated above spray the blind down and leave it up in the back yard for a few days.
as far as how long will it take for deer to get used to it that depends on the deer. I have set blinds up and had deer there the next day other times I have set a blind up and didn't have a single deer on camera for a week. So if I were you get it set up sprayed down then set it up in the woods get it brushed in and give it a week to settle in.

Glad to hear that he got back into it. I am currently trying to get some family back into hunting myself and I know when he decides to pick up the crossbow he will be hooked.

I sent a doe to them last year. Yes, great work, cheap and fast. And it seems to be holding up fine?
