It's 7:30am opening morning of the Indiana firearms season & you have not tagged any deer in archery season. A big fat doe quitely & casually walks to your setup and starts feeding on acorns unaware of your presence. She is so close that you can hear her sniffing, sucking up, & crunching the acrons. No other deer within sight, or sound. What will "you" do???

I'd take her, but only after waiting awhile to make sure a lovelorn buck wasn't on her trail

In this situation I like to think of the doe as "bait" may be she's hot or at least close to it and if any buck in the area is able to smell her maybe she'll bring in a big boy. I just hope she doesn't wind me!

I hunt state ground on opening day and no doe tags aloud. So I pass. I normaly only take doe with archery and black powder. The rut is for bucks.

All this time I thought it was just me ... That would make a great twofer , drop him and then her if she doesn't bolt , at the very least you'd have the larger deer on the ground and you might double up before it was over .

I would pass. I shoot as many does as possible but I won't shoot one the first weekend of gun season, unless I had already shot a buck.

DITTO..Plenty of time to shoot a doe in the rest of firearms season or late bow season. I would enjoy her company and keep her for a decoy/watch dog. I would not have to watch for another deer as she will tell me when one or some are coming. She has better eyes and hearing than I do. .

Since seeing any deer where I hunt is sometimes a rare treat I would drop her as that means that there is meat in the freezer. Which would still leave me with one more doe tag and a buch if such luck should happen.

That would be my plan too, but sometimes it doesn't quite work out that way. Things always work out exactly the way I plan them.
