I hated my 30th, and now I'm not liking #38 much either. It's getting too close to 40!

A guy ought to be happy every day he wakes up on the right side of the grass.

I really struggled with hitting 40-I realized that I probably had more time behind me than ahead of me.
Now, I`m struggling again as I approach 50, it`ll hit in April 2007. Gettin` old stinks.

I'll be doing the 54 come October and so far didn't mind any of them. Matter a fact I look forward to 55 and the retirement opportunity that goes along with it. If any I would probably have to say 21. Being in the military and away from home without my party pals that I grew up and went through school with. But I did have some pretty close short term friends during that time so that kind of made up for it.

Aging didn't bother me til I hit 50. That's when the realization of my own mortality struck me like a sledge hammer. Happy birthday Decatur!

I just don't keep track of my age... for the last 3 years my b-day came and went and I did not even realize it. I think I am still 23 but my wife seems to think I will be 30 in a few months....

40 was the only one so far; I think it made me feel like I wasn't a kid anymore.

Oddly enough , 40 didn't bother me a bit , I turned it into a reflective year and it sailed right by . My hardest was 16 , it was a terrible year for me on many levels .

Fretting over birthdays to me is a vain thing. Hey! We all start dieing the day we are born. I am just glad I am still half way healthy enough to hunt & fish.

Guys, I am a Deputy Coroner in Marion County. In the 11 years I have been doing this job, I have come to the realization that we ought to be thankful for every day we have. It doesn't matter whether you are 25 or 55. There are a whole lot of people that would love to be as old as you are today. Many don't make it.
I don't mean to sound like gloom and doom...I'm just a realist.
That's why I live by the following "Every day is a holiday, and every meal is a banquet".

My birthday almost always falls in the first few days of turkey season and there actually have been times when I have been out in the field and suddenly realized that it is my birthday. Not too many people get to do their favorite thing on their birthday. I guess my best birthday was in 1987 the day I nailed my first gobbler. It was my 38th. Think of the alternative and they are all special. I thank the Lord every birthday for letting me have another year.
