I was thinking scrub-buster had a thread on this but I couldn't find it. So I'll start another. I just got back from an Ohio work trip. Two different occasions I found this (2 old filet knives near Plain City and the pliers/pipe wrench near Twinsburg) on the side of the road.

2 years ago I was running on county road and found a Stihl chainsaw in the ditch. Called Sheriff to come get it.

No pictures but….
On a deer hunt in Kentucky I road Found a Schade Old Timer sheath knife - minus the sheath. There was dried blood on it so I’m guessing it belong to a deer hunter who probably lays it on his truck bumper and it fell off as he drove. It matches one I already have.
Coming back from hunting in Indiana there was a small (looked like new) 6 pack Coleman cooler laying in the middle of the road. Probably blew out the back of a pickup truck. I use it frequently now.

I love a good road find. Those are some nice tools! This is my most recent find. It was in the gravel drive to one of my small treatment plants. I found a snap on ratchet and a Dewalt driver bit set a while back. I drive a lot for work and I'm always watching the roads.

Found several black rubber bungees on the road over the years. More than enough that I've NEVER bought one. Found a Cresent wrench, a flash light, a high vix road crew safety vest, a couple hats, a guy's safety lock it had the key in it. Thats about all I can remember at the moment.

ROFL Me? I'm looking for police that DON'T have their radar on. OH, HC, if you stop at Boomland again in the near future, whatever you do DO NOT buy one of the packages of Sweet N Salty coated Pecans. You will get addicted to them. Now every time I go past I have to get a bag (or 2).

Several years ago I got off work and found a large cooler in the road. It was full of iced down rolling rock beer. I don't drink alcohol at all. I gave the beer to a coworker and kept the cooler.

I've found things in the woods but not much of anything worth using on the road. Bungies and an occasional ratchet strap os about all I can think of.

I was siding my house about 20 years ago and tore the roof off of a small porch. I was almost finished and I needed 1 piece of T-metal for the roof. I was trying to hurry home from work and get a piece and got stuck in a traffic jam on I-70. Lo and behold, laying right beside the interstate in the median where I was stopped was an 8 foot piece of T-metal! That's NOT my typical luck!

You sound like the “Please don’t throw me in that briar patch” Br’er Rabbit!🤠 So ok, the next time I pass thru I WON’T pick up a bag or 2! P.S. I’ll let you know how they are!😋

Pulling out of the drive heading to work and a pickup rolls by. At the corner in the middle of the road was a tote. I hopped out and it was full of deer hunting gear. Threw it in the back of my van and flew down the road. I caught up to the guy about 4 miles down and flagged him down at a stop sign. He was one happy hunter. Coat, bibs, backpack. He said everything but his gun was in there. I know how I would feel. Now had I been in the NB lane of 69 and spied that ladder Laying there today I would have grabbed it. I have picked up a 3' level, hammers, ratchet wrenches, wrenches, screw drivers, sockets a heavy duty chain. I BRAKE FOR TOOLS

I have lost all those. I am horrible at retaining tools. Getting better but still forget stuff on bumpers or hoods or where ever.
I will send you my address if you find any more of my stuff

I picked up a 2 wheeled hand cart and a 1/2" drive Craftsman ratchet at different times, but that's about it. My buddy that used to work on the highway putting up barricades has a "found" list that would take up 2-3 pages. He gave me some 20mm brass shell cases that were linked together.... They were fired already though.

I have never found anything significant, but being a mechanic for 30 years I have most definitely contributed to other people finding my stuff!!

My most recent finds on my walks have been a 2" square Reese towing hitch with a 2" chrome ball on it, and a 2-1/2 LB sledge hammer. Both good and useful finds. Likely fell off someone's bumper.
My nephew is a professional road scrounger. He stops for ratchet straps, buckets, inspects boxes for contents, etc.

On way to school about 15 years ago at 5:30 a.m. there was a dolly in the middle on main street through town. I stopped and got it. It was nice. It is the type on the back of Pepsi/Coke trucks.
