Please add 1 more for Team 3. Don't know what the deal is with the morning squirrels. In the woods at 6:30 and can see one silhouette moving around on the large limbs. Light enough at 7 for me to see 3 squirrels working in the shag bark hickory. Finally get moved into a position to see and shoot one cutting. In through the eye and out the top of the head and drops to the ground. The 2 others flat disappear. Snuck along a dry creek for another hour and only saw one more timbering through some small trees. Would have been an easy one with a shotgun. Seems they're already started eating before daylight and done around 7:30. Personal total is now 15.

I'm hoping to get out the week and I'll be bringing the shotgun, hoping to clean out some of the pineys if nothing else and hopefully a few to eat too though, not the pineys 😉🤣.

Please add 1 for Team 4. Got out yesterday afternoon and by the time this one finally made its way to a spot where I could get it one squirrel was enough for the day since I had an event yesterday evening.

Please add 2 more for Team 3. Hunted a jungle of a creek bottom just before dark. Only saw these two young ones out and about. Got the little gray first and a little way farther the fox squirrel was building a nest. Sounded like the mosquito squadron was starting their engines, so it was time to hit the road! Took my old Marlin 881 along tonight with Remington Sunsonics. Fun hearing that hollowpoint hit home! Personal total is now 17. You can just see the moon over my front scope ring.

I had an 880SQ (THE Squirrel) for several years and was going to trade it in on the 917m2 that I have now. My uncle bought it from me instead of letting me trade it away. It was also super-accurate with Remington Subsonics.

I'm no help to y'all on Team 3. Not for lack of trying, though. I've been out 4 times in 2 totally different woods. 2 mornings and 2 evenings. Some sits. Some walk and stalk, look and listen. And I haven't seen a single squirrel. Just funny how it is at times!

I had not hunted that creek bottom at all last year. 🤷♂️ I saw lots of acorns on the ground, but I've not seen a single walnut and doesn't seem to be many hickory nuts either. May have been a bad mast year in Daviess County and maybe some others.

Our apples and pears didn't do good at all and we didn't have any grapes. I'm not sure about nuts though, there's only a couple hickory trees on our place and they did ok, not as many nuts as usual but some.
