I'm will most lightly be out wrangling bees. Once this cloudy cold rain ends and the sun comes out the swarms will be flying.

I was supposed to leave Sunday morning for Lonoke, AR to pick up fish on Monday morning, then beat feet North. I called the one hatchery and they said nope, don't bother, they won't have any trucks on the road and they said don't come down. Hotels are booked AND they bumped prices from $75-$80/night to $400-$500/night. They also said that when the partial eclipse happened in 2017, they were on the road coming back from delivering fish. A 10 hour drive turned into a 19 hour drive due to the traffic.
I was going to sleep in the truck but with the extra drive time, no way can I spend that many hours on the road. THEN on top of it, you don't know how many idiots will be driving and looking at the same time. 9,500#, 25' trailer and idiots? Nope.
SO, I am re-scheduling the fish pick-up.....

Call me "Debbie Downer" if you want, but for the life of me, I can't see the big deal about the whole thing? I wouldn't drive across the county to see it,let alone drive across the country.

They are neat to see, I drove 2 hrs for the last one just because Mom and Dad had a camp down at Kentucky Lake. This one will be over the house. I probably won't go anywhere for anymore but they are kind of cool to watch.

I just got home to Indy from Cleveland. Easily 4 hours over the normal trip. Traffic was as busy as I’ve ever seen it enroute. Noticeably more “eastern” plates than normal. I’m guessing, due to the eclipse.

Looks like I won't be needing any glasses for the eclipse. Calling for cloudy skies, we'll have them on hand just in case but I think all it's gonna do is get dark outside for a few minutes. Oh well, I'm still planning on smoking our first pork shoulder of the season.

I'll try my thermal monocular. I can record it. Did some research and prolly will damage it during the suns brightness during the day above the horizon. I've seen the sun thru it in the morning sunrise by accident and it is ok but the light is probably not at full power on the horizon. I'm not gonna try at the suns full power.

We’re having a little get together at my house. Roasting dogs and s’mores. Everyone is local, so hopefully no trouble with traffic.

This is going to mess with my circadian rhythm. Since it’s going to be dark I’ll just take a nap!
