I bought my license and purchased a federal stamp today. I traded a couple packs of my lighted knocks for a few decoys as well. I'm looking forward to going out for the first time to hunt waterfowl. I gotta say, I like the federal stamps. If I continue this thing, I think I'll start a collection.

Good for you Genesis! It’s definitely different than deer, but will still get your heart pounding when orange feet come down in your face. Hope you can find someone to go with a time or two, if not, no reason not to try on your own. Every year I tell myself I should have gone duck hunting more instead of deer hunting.

Looking forward to some hunts this year too. About 20 yrs ago I was ready to quit deer hunting and just waterfowl hunt. I moved a few times and lost track of permissions, had 2 kids and lost ability to scout, and live in an area where deer hunting is too good to pass up.
Kids are less dependent on me, job allows flexibility and the few birds around I am getting property lined up that I can scout and mostly hunt plus Lake Monroe. I am excited.

Ducks should be coming down, temps are dropping down into the 30's for highs starting today. Got buddies over hunting northwestern North Dakota, they are getting snow and he said very few birds.

For the past week or so I have had several nice groups of Mallards on the property so I got pumped about duck opener and onca again I GOT SCREWED.For the first hour I only saw 2 teal and that was it. I couldn't stay long because of a commitment this morning but it appears I wasn't missing anything. This was my pups first official duck hunt from a blind and as expected trouble happened right away. "Wing" in the dark thought that she was supposed to fetch a decoy that was hooked to my jerk line and in doing so she broke the line and drug it in with decoys attached....ROOKIE MISTAKE!

LMFAO, dont you know by now to have your doggie used to those decoys. I see it aleast once at every weekend retriever event. I keep decoys in my field and ponds all summer so the dogs get used to them.

I had to work late yesterday and again early this morning but, I made it out this afternoon for my first duck hunt. Zip, zilch, nada. Lol! I wish I was more experienced to come up with a clever excuse but, I have none! Lol! It was still nice to be out.
