Here is most of article. I have had several doe groups pass by in last week (4-6), which is very odd for this time of year. Without a doubt one of worst "buck movement wise" Nov.'s I can recall

From observation from my back windows. Ohio co.
The rut was hitting before Halloween and was more pronounced during the snow and cold snap of that week.
Haven’t seen any deer for the last few days. No chasing at all for awhile.

Nice 9 pointer cruised through at 30 yards. He's just not Mr big yet.

We did have decent acorn production, but forage was burnt up July , August, Sept. I believe worst stretch I had less than 1" rain in 7 weeks. Did not plant fall plots till 1st Week in October.

Congrats to all those that got it done the last couple days. I'm now back in God's country,(the cabin). Spoke with my pop a little when I got here, his resting place looking pretty good. Walked the property, but didn't see anything that great. Looking forward to Saturday getting here. Sure feels good to be back home and out in the Woods. Good luck to you all...SF Woody

Not the first year of the so called “drought” it seems…..All the farm crops and tree nuts sure seem normal for things to be blamed on a Drought IMO He gave other contributing factors that cause, but drought was 1. Just passing the info along. Definitely been a very strange Nov., for deer movement in my neck woods. Streesed trees will produce more so it fits right in line with drought

Man what a evening. Decided to possibly make my last set of the year for archery. Now its thunder stick time. Had deer all over me. All evening. Even drove out in my field to empty it so my son could get out of his stand. Bucks cruising. Bucks chasin. And grunting. Must of had a hot doe or possibly several of them that were seen. Best rut action all year. Just needed the Old warrior that we have had so many pictures of. Unfortunately he didn't come to the party tonight. So with that being said. Maybe one more day of archery before thunder stick.

Right at about sundown (4:33) two does and a fawn came out in the North end of the food plot. They were about 45 yards away. The one doe started looking towards the south end past me. I eased my head around and there was a deer grazing about 40 yards south of me. I didn’t glass it as it appeared to be a doe. After about. 5 minutes that deer started towards the other deer. When it went past me I could see it was a spike. Antlers “might” have been four inches but they were pencil thin. He had his head lowered and when he got close to the does they took off. He ran them off the food plot and up into the woods.
He came back about a half hour after I got down as I caught him on the camera .
Probably won’t hunt in the rain in the morning. I don’t mind rain when gun hunting, but not archery

Not needed if you have a good can on the rifle. I don't need hearing protection when shooting my .308 now. Have you ever measured the noise level it’s at now? I will if you have a db meter that I can borrow.

My pond is the lowest it's been since it was renovated in 2008. I will be trying to figure out a way to get the well water to the pond without it freezing up at night when temps drop below freezing. Live from the road (sort of) I drove about 140 miles today, even going within 2 miles of deadeers house and didn't see a live deer.

1732 I put one through a doe.....more too follow So here it is. Sitting in the stand, very warm and listening to deer cruise in the crp refusing to be lured by a bleat. I hear some steps behind me. In exactly the same spot behind me as the doe that got me yesterday. Fool me once.. .. I slightly turn that way and caught brown coming. She walked under me, directly away and then stopped at 21 yds. I had plenty of time to set up. She turned quartering away and I squeezed the centerpoint trigger and WHACK!!! I'm using my buddy's rig and his bolt carries Schwackers and sweet baby Jeebus it blew the heart up!! She went maybe 25 yds after....the "blood trail" was a literal red carpet.

Without a doubt one of worst "buck movement wise" Nov.'s I can recall I let 17 does walk in 3 day span last week not a single buck with any . Any buck I’ve seen has been alone .
