I finally got a decent buck on camera. It says Ed's farm, but it's at my home for now. I had to get a better antenna and I have it out for testing. Sunday or Monday I plan to re-install the camera. Still night time action.

I was going to switch a camera card out on my way in this morning, but there wasn’t a card to switch out. I absolutely can’t stand a scumbag thief!!! 😡 That is BS

I can imagine what that was like! I've had something similar happen. Year ago, in my 2nd year of hunting, Dad had taken me out to our hunting area for an evening crossbow hunt. I was sitting in our stand along a forest road, and he was 100 yards away on the other side of a ravine. About 10 minutes before shooting light ended I decided to get down. Dad finally gave me the go-ahead to do so, and I got down after taking a quick look around. Well, got down, got the crossbow untied from the hauling rope, started walking out, and.... I hadn't even heard the big 10 pt coming right up the forest road. I walk out from the brush and look up to see a big deer with 10 pts standing about 5 ft away and he had just looked up at me too. We scared each other pretty bad, but I got some time to take a look at him. Lesson learned: Don't get down before shooting light ends if you haven't shot a deer and always have an ear/eye out for deer while prepping to get down! Deer hunting with a buddy in Wi during gun season a while back. He walking down a fire trail about an hour after daylight with his gun on his shoulder (about 4" snow on the ground) and came up to the top of a hill at the exact time that a 10 pt did the same thing from the opposite direction. I don't know who was more surprised, the deer took off, my buddy got the rifle off of his shoulder and was able to shoot the deer when it stopped about 100 yds away and looked back. At the shot the deer took off and he called me saying that he needed help tracking a deer that he shot. (In the snow? O.K.) He came and got me and we found the deer about 200 yds later. Liver and one lung but the deer was dead. I sent him back to the cabin to get the sled while I field dressed it. It took us 5 hours to get it out of the woods. (Maybe 1+ mile from the truck over a BUNCH of windblown trees.) For a number of years he stopped hanging the rifle on his shoulder, but he's back to doing it again. They aren't for everybody but I started using a Gunbearer. It takes a few times to get it adjusted and used to it being under your arm but I really like it. GUN BEARERS

I let my 13 yo play hookie today he is a straight A student and asked if he could go today. I said wouldn't you rather go Friday? He said he didn't want to miss Friday and today worked better for his schedule. I figured if he had the maturity to go today rather than Friday then he had his act together. We've seen 3 but none have cooperated.
