Since the firearm season doesn't come in until the 18th I feel I have I have plenty of opportunity to archery hunt. Might go a few times before Halloween, but it is game on from then on. I went up to my 40 acres this morning. All three mock scrapes had been hit pretty good. One branch was torn out of the food plot rubbing tree. I reinstalled it and freshened the scrapes up. Woody’s Wonderful Whiz! My Reveal camera has not updated in a month, but it is taking pictures daily. As long as it's doing that I'm not messing with it. I cleared the path to the farmers field south of us with my weed whacker/brush blade. I only had to do about 15 feet where a tree had fallen over the old trial and briars had sprung up. Remarked the trail with new orange streamers leading to my ditch and then walk in the ditch to the stand . That’s more for my grandson as I know the ground like the back of my hand. There are 4 big scrapes on that old trail! Same place every year. Need to check on a couple more stands. One is close to the 4 big scrapes. . I usually take the first week of firearm season off. But, I'm taking November 4th thru the 12th off instead. Hopefully get in on some good rut action. But, I won't be heartbroken if I get my buck beforehand. Lol! November 18th is my birthday and I'll probably do an all day sit if I don't tag out before then.

Didn't see a thing from the blind. Left a little early and saw 6 or 7 in the same field. We just picked the wrong entry point tonight.

I'm taking November 4th thru the 12th off instead. I have the exact same week scheduled off work, but I think I'm going to cancel it. In 29 seasons, I've never taken off work to hunt. I really thought I could bring myself to do it, but I just can't. LOL! I'm probably going to "sell" 80 hours back to the company at the end of the year.

Really enjoy reading all your stories, I will be getting back home on Nov 15th, gives me a couple days to see how things are looking. Would be nice to get one early so I can visit family a little. Son won't be coming this year, has work to be at. Will be hunting until the 28th. The game cam shows a few deer here and there, got a nice 6pt showing up, but he may just walk this season. Have 4 or 5 different does hanging around, at least get some meat for the freezer. Hoping to get some more when they really get moving. Congrats to those already getting it done and straight shots to all headed out. See you guys soon....Semper Fi, Woody

Not out in the woods, but on the way to town for an event this evening my dad and I had a buck wall out across the road in front of us. We are guessing he would go at least 140"-150" because he had a lot of height and good mass. Looked like a 10 pt maybe.

Turkish all around but no shots. Had 1 doe slide behind me. I'm glad you escaped the Turkish invasion! Without a single shot being fired too! This is the first year in awhile that I hadn't on purchased a fall turkey tag. My luck, I'll get a shot opportunity. Lol!
