After some coyote and deer disturbance, a tom fired off right over top of my blind! There were 3 different toms gobbling and a few hens yelping and cutting from the limb. I heard all the hens cackle as they flew down. The tom above gobbled three times and pitched down right in front of me. He barely had time to stretch his wings before he was laid out flat. I thought for sure he was going to pitch out behind me as he had a lot of time to watch my decoys not moving. I have him quartered up and in the freezer. Not a single pellet in any of the meat. Congratulations!!! Awesome.....congratulations

2-3 gobbled before daylight, unfortunately they went the other way after flydown. Had 2 jakes come in and bless his heart, one tried many, many times to breed the decoy. Between trying to breed and just strut, he provided some neat entertainment for about 40 minutes. My son shot his about 5 minutes after legal shooting, they'd been coming out in the field across from the house pretty regularly. Said he flew down right in the decoys. Of course when he left my house, they were 5 just below it in the field. LOL, go figure. Getting a bite to eat then back at it. Good luck and hunt safe fellers.

29 degrees with heavy frost and no wind when I went out this morning. Got set up 1/2 hour before legal and enjoyed a stone quite morning. Never heard or saw a turkey, couple Sandhill cranes and Canada geese. Called it quits at 10:00.

Dang Wes that sucks! It should ease up the longer we get into the season. Dont forget Winimac, and closer yet Galena Wetlands. I lost my Ace in the Hole property for now. Still got a decent place, but 40min drive so weekdays are tough. Sorry to hear about losing property, I know how that goes. The other place I went this morning was Fishlake. Last year no one else was there on opening day so I figured I'd be good to go out there. As far as Galena goes I haven't been out there in some time and I really don't care for that property. Is Winimac open hunting? I've never been there and I believe it's around an hour or slightly more of a drive. I've considered Menominee I believe it's called in Plymouth but haven't had a chance to get out there either. I have 4 more days this week so I'll keep trying Kingsbury and may eventually just try Fishlake if I absolutely have to. Winimac is FWA same as KOP, draw only. But much richer in birds. A great place. Yes, about an hour from us. Menominee is good too. Just got to figure out the property lines. Seen several over the years in that area. Galena is Galena. More birds in that area than you know. A buddy used to live on the WNW corner, and the entire wildlife population was spectacular! Would keep you from going home without a hunt tho? Theres a newer place in Mich City, south of 94, west of the landfill. I think the info is at KOP. Just trying to help out with some ideas. Good luck.

Freeze warning again tonight in the NW, then 45deg low Thurs night.
I am gonna go all in and wait till Friday morning to hunt. Then work first half of shift Friday night, so I can get some sleep and be prime for Sat morning.

Same story as youth weekend, roosted on the edge of the neighbor's field, then they pitch down and spend about all day out there strutting and gobbling. Two toms, two hens, and three jakes out there today.
I'm at work now, have to fix the mower and cut the grass tonight. Back out tomorrow morning.
I did spot a mushroom about 6' from my blind, then glassed up two more about 15' away! My first time mushroom hunting with binoculars.

I’m about to call it a day here. Had some deer come visit for a while and were really confused with this blind here. Haven’t heard any gobbles in a good while and have to change out batteries in the Excursion and get some other things done around the house. Never have been an evening turkey hunter. Still have 4 days and a plan to try tomorrow on the three I messed with at daybreak this morning.

Saw 2 jakes right down the road from my house when I left for work this morning. I won't be able to make it out until Friday.

Going to film for one of the owners of Tethrd tomorrow. I’ll probably bring the scatter gun along just in case a chance for doubling up happens.

Just kidding buddy!🤠 Congratulations! I’d have done the same thing!!! I was tickled to death this morning! But, now I have a little bit of regret since my season is over. However, Daphne is wanting to go on a couple afternoon hunts( she's NOT a morning person). So, if she's serious, we'll get her a tag and go

Worked, got home sat down for 62 mins out back and could have ended turkey season. Passed on it, went to house. Fired up grill for back straps, fresh asparagus and salad for dinner. Hate to end the season so fast.
