We have about 1/4" ice on top of the snow and any areas of the ground that I didn't spread out any salt last night. We just hit 33 about an hour ago, and long range looks like we won't have a high temp under freezing for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I can live with that. This snow will melt fast, if I'm lucky, it will melt fast enough to get some runoff to go to the pond. Rain off and on (mostly on) until Friday.
Luckily we didn't have the wind so we didn't lose power.

Good morning from foggy suburban Ari. 34' with drizzling rain.
My daughter struggled coming home at 9:30 last night. It went from slick to real real slick in spots. The few cars I watched go by were creeping.
I fell asleep watching the news and when I woke someone was really creeping down the road. Our power never blinked last night. REMC keeps several trimming crews out and that helps.
Woke at 9 and they were flying down the road. The trees do not have Ice on them and no more than the usual number of little limbs are down.

Really foggy tonight. Worse in areas that have forests on both sides of the road, less so in areas that are open fields. Visibility is about 1 "Telephone" pole at a time. Just pass one, then I can see the next one. That's in the areas of the open fields.
How far are utility poles spaced?

It's been raining all morning here. The fog was gone at 4am when I looked outside, earlier than that and it was THICK! The snow drift here by the house has shrunk by about 18" with the rain. I was going to bring the tractor with the bucket to clear out the driveway, but the way the snow is melting it will be gone in a day or two so I won't bother.

Fog here in Warren County has been bad since yesterday evening. It's very muddy and slushy with a few minor patches of ice here and there. I had to go into town today and most of the time I couldn't see past 500 ft easily.

It wouldn't be Indiana if the weather didn't suck...

Thick fog here too.
Hopefully this won't keep up too much longer and the sun will shine. If not, the ponds that don't have working winter aeration systems could experience a winterkill if they are iced over and this keeps up for another week.

I've lived in Minnesota for 24 years and this winter is a first for me. We have gotten a little snow, maybe 5 inches. I have not even had to plow my drive. Looking at the extended forecast, we only have 1 night getting down into the teen's for the next 3 weeks!! The lakes are froze but there are still area's of open water where there is some current. Hope I'm not jinxing myself, Ive seen years that March we got our heaviest snowfalls.

Looking back at snow days here at school Feb of 2015 was bad. We missed from 16th-24th. We added an hour onto the school day that year to make up for lost time.
