So far up to this point, for us at least in the NW, the weatherfibbers all have egg on their face. It did snow really hard a few times, but a lot melted off already. We still have/had rain falling at least half the time. If it would have been all snow, would have been something. But, when the temps drop, its gonna be bad if the wind doesnt evaporate a bunch of the water first. Looks like the ride home should be decent. Still 2 hours to go. 🙄

Wind is hitting us now in SB. Still shows 33deg, and I got drizzle on my glasses. Down to 15 min and I'm outta here, so should be ok ride home.
Showing the wrap around loop of snow should be pretty fierce over night, so I plan on being a homebody all weekend. Gonna play around on the tractor and snowblower at home and the neighbors if we get enough.

The wind has been hitting here pretty hard the past 2 hours. I found a local private weather station a mile away that is putting data up every 2 minutes. Winds bounce from 15-25 with gusts to 35. I can't wait for the constant 25 with gusts to 45 that the NWS says we will see overnight. Screens on the windows are rattling and while it sounds like things are blowing around outside I can't see anything that's moved. I suppose I'll check the shingles in the morning but they should be ok.
This is the windiest it's been in about a year here. It doesn't help that I have a bare field for 1/2 mile to the West and 1.2 miles to the SW with the house on a slight hill so it's always pretty windy here with no trees to break the wind.

Finally getting in on the action. Looks to be about 5-6" snow so far on my wood shed, and wind showing 34mph sustained.

I got woke up at 3:00 AM to the sound of strong winds. The temp was 28', down 6' from when I went to bed.
At 7:00 it was still gusting winds and the temp had dropped to 21'. Wind is mostly from the south and pushing a light snow around. I am thinking most of our bad weather comes from the South or Southwest.

Wind is worse this morning.
Last night wasnt anything like predicted here.
Very light winds, definitely not 55+ as predicted.
Light snow, dusting.

Down to 17deg already. Showing -4 tonight and -6 next couple. Worst part will be near zero high temps.
Really nasty plowing with unfrozen ground. Got a slush layer, and snow weighs a ton.
Nevertheless, got all my snow blowing and plowing done. Helped the neighbors with same. Went and shoveled out my MIL. Worked hard enough got starving hungry, so rewarded myself with a Subway Beast. Dang good!
Finally time to lay low and relax.
