I'm in the 3"-5" area now just below the red line. Far cry from the 12"+ they were predicting earlier this week. Typical.

What part of Florida you headed to? You picked a good time to go for sure! Sébastien, fl,Indian river on oyster bay. Couple hrs south of Datona. I saw this cold forecast few days back and ask her if she wanted to get out of here. She said YES!!! So I got on the net and started looking for a place that was warm. Got a two bedroom full kitchen on the bay. Never been there but reviews were positive. When I look at reviews i throw out the it was great and the it was horrible ones and try to read between the lines on the rest. It hasn't failed me yet. If all are it was great I figure they are fake and if all bad I figure true. This is an OUR vacation so problly won't do much fishing. Will do thrift stores, good will, cremedic shops and pawn shops plus bunch od driveing around looking at scenery. If it was a my vacation it would be focused around hunting or fishing which I do every now and then If you get around to fishing a day or two... Sebastian Inlet south jetty on an outgoing tide; cast out on the beach side. Get some live shrimp from one of the local bait shops. I fished there about 25 years ago or so and had a ball. Caught all kinds of different fish and stingrays. Even caught a small barracuda on a gold Rapala. I saw everything from small amberjacks, to bull reds and even a 6-7' blacktip brought in on that jetty. Just a thought if you get tired of just enjoying the milder temps.

SW Indiana.. (not exactly deer hunting weather!) ..First Big Storm Hitting by Friday......Heavy Rains and High Wind Gusts Expected... Rain enters the forecast again Thursday night, as our first big storm for the weekend takes shape. The rain really gets going as it spreads over the entire region Friday. Widespread 1 to 2 inch rain amounts are forecast and localized higher rain amounts enhanced by potential thunderstorms are possible. This rainfall, coming after our recent widespread 1 to 2 inch rainfall, will be largely beneficial but may result in some flooding issues for roads or areas prone to flooding, where runoff is not as efficient. The other weather that really cranks up Friday will be winds and wind gusts. Peak gusts Friday afternoon and evening may approach 50 mph as the forecast stands right now. A marginal risk of severe storms exists, and while the risk is low, it may heighten damaging wind gust potential. As grounds become well saturated again, these high gusts may be able to down some trees or power lines, even if they don't quite reach severe levels. All ponds and lakes are a lot lower than normal in Daviess County (and others I'm sure); I hope we get a bunch of rain here!

The good news the coldest week or so is at our door steps. My mom was born on the 23rd she always stated the coldest day. Well, being and engineer, I looked it up. What I remember either the 22nd or 23rd was the coldest with 23rd most times. Most years the 16th to 26th. Once this cold spell passes the temperature is all uphill to around July 23rd, the hottest day/week. Looks like this year it will be one week early for the coldest week.

About 2" at our place. Roads were crap earlier. Now raining/freezing rain. Gonna be a bloodbath when it freezes and the high wind gets here. Saying up to 50mph. I'll be at work later when all that happens. Ought to be a nice ride home tonight. Yay

So far just a lot of rain with a little sleet this morning. We had some 20 mph winds early this morning as the front came in, but that was it. Mostly calm with light winds. I guess after the rain passes the winds come with the cold air. Looks like around 6pm the winds pick up to 20-30mph. Looks more typical than bad winds. Bring on the cold to slow down the bugs. One week is perfect.

Ari, In 4:22 PM I was out for a bit this afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00. In about half an hour there were slick spots especially the decel and turn lanes on Lima Rd / Hwy 3 north of Huntertown. The slush is still coming down pretty good. For snow it is falling fast. Temp rose to 34' so that is a factor. At least it won't be drifting any time soon.

That will close the bridge down. I have never been there when they closed the bridge. Those waves should be close to going over part of the north end.

Snowing absolute gangbusters in SB now. Adding up fast. If we get the wind they are saying, it will be a sight to behold.
