A Road Call would be nasty. I learned my lesson a while back. Slushy snow means no snowthrower. Yep. But, I wanted to exercise it at least once. I dont think it saw snow last year, just ran it a few times. PLUS, shoveling slush is just a disaster waiting to happen for this tired and wore out body. 😇

I got the tractor and the wife out to drive it yesterday and moved some logs out of the flood zone to higher ground. If snow piles up and the a warm rain comes it could have put all those in a nasty situation for me. All good now. Let it snow.

LOL I figure that if it gets cold enough the slush will freeze, then just deal with the snow on top of it. Raining here in Plymouth again - from the East. My worry is that if I get rid of the slush, then the rain will freeze on the concrete and be smooth and slick. I'll deal with the slush and bumpiness for the next 2-3 weeks vs. slipping and sliding.

I sure my son will be out this evening through tomorrow. Either applying salt on slick spots-overpasses or salt if we get any snow. He will be happy driving the 13 plus ton truck. County largest truck.

My daughter said there were somewhere near 60+ accidents in Ft Wayne. It is hard to see the road with your head stuck up your butt. I went across town around noon. Most of the roads were clear but there were several BIG puddles.
Come on ice.

Our local weather guessers said highs Sunday Monday around 8-9 degrees, lows around 0. Looking on-line it looks like single digits and teens for highs for at least 10 days, we won't see 30 until February then it's just for 1 day and then back into the 20's for highs.
For us up here, the local weather guessers said heavy snow on Friday, no guess as to totals so far.

Each time I look at next week temperatures the numbers are going lower and lower. Now in the minus category (-4) and 9-10 days below 32F. I need to stop checking.

The moral of the story is “Weatherman Pay”. Down south here we pay our weatherman better than union wages and he gives us better weather.. Known fact… 😉 .

BAM is notorious for missing forecasts in my area. Rarely accurate. They’re a hype forecasting group IMO.

It seems that now 1"-3" is a major winter storm and when I was growing up, 1"-3" was just a normal snow, a major winter storm had to have 12" or more snow to get any hype.

We will be right on the "blizzard threat" line. Being just downwind of the big lake, and miles of wide open ground around, AND in the lake effect snow belt, its gonna be a blast. 🙄 We've already fore warned several people like both mom's and friends that cant shovel, they better be ready to hunker down for a few days. With a good amount of snow, and high winds, and then frigid temps to follow, we might not be able to get over to deal with the snow for a few days.

Weatherman gets a kickback from the stores. No doubt. Lol. Amazing to see the panic brought on by the news before any kind of storm threat. Milk and bread will be cleaned out first. We stay stocked up regardless. Maybe go top off the gas tanks and gas cans, but everything else is always at the ready anyway.
