Lots of branches and limbs down for us. Took a ride into LaPorte on the backroads, and it's a mess along the way. Nothing major luckily. Lots of wash outs and stones in the roadway, so obvious it was flowing heavy.

We had another big bad storm last night around 4:30 to 5 am. About another 2 inches and small branches and leaves down everywhere. The ground is very water logged and soggy. Typically this time of year the ground is bone dry. Good news there will be a good to great fall flow this year. The iron weed, esters and goldenrod will be plentiful and producing nectar.

Been getting steady rain all summer at my place. Had to put gutter on my car port to keep the runoff out of my garage.

Had a nice storm coming from the west….and future radar shows it going below us.. AGAIN.. 🥲 You and esshup have the same luck! Cant win for losing with the rain. You guys can both have our surplus. No garden, no flowers, no pond here. I am tired of grass and weeds, so it could be a drought at our place and I wouldnt care. Would be bo harm done.

2" rain where the pond is at, need about 2 feet of rain to saturate the sandy soil and create runoff to fill the pond.

Saturday morning I walked out of my garage and discovered a big black cherry tree down in my side yard. I was busy Saturday and waited until Sunday evening to clean it up.
Sunday evening I took a load of limbs to the burn pile in the field, and discovered a big sycamore down in the fence. So then I had to take a half day Monday to get the tree off the fence and fix the fence.
And I never heard a thing Saturday morning when the storm went through. I didn't even know it had rained until I opened the curtains and saw the deck was wet! 🤷♂️

I went to and came back from Illinois today. Drove to Sparta and back (Grand American Trapshoot), stopping at a customers in Louisville, Illinois on the way. He said not too far South of him had over 9" of rain last night. Streets were closed because of flash floods, and when I went through the area the streets were open but the ditches next to the roads were still out of the banks.
I need that here!!!

Nice and steady rain in the NW so far. I'm just now pulling the plug outside. Shows starting to get into the yellow on the radar now so not pushing my luck.

We got a huge burst continually since I last checked. Raining sideways against the house. Recheck and now at 2.4". Still says rain thru early afternoon. This baby is just sitting over us and slammed on the brakes.
