I think the longest dry days was just over two weeks. About 16 or 17 days. So far the clover-weeds-grass is still green and mowing within every two weeks. Looks like next week there might be 7 or 8 dry days forecasted.

If I have a puddle of water on top of the fish holding tanks with a net in it, there are at least a dzn honey bees on the net getting a drink of water due to capillary action on the netting.

My yard is just starting to die out again. No real rain in sight for the next 10 days. I’ve got some fungus brown spots starting. I’m going to be treating that early tomorrow morning. I’ve got to catch that early or the whole yard will brown.

Another big storm rain last night. I just checked and about 2. 3 inches. This is one of the wettest and coolest summers that I can remember. The third week of July is the warmest week just like the 3rd week of January is the coldest. Typical

In NE LaPorte county, we had .7" earlier this week, and another .6" this morning. Everything is green and thriving in our neighborhood.
About July 1st, the corn in our area was around a foot tall. Now, some is easily over 6-7'. Obviously the rain is great, but the high humidity at night seems to set it off. As said, we can hear it growing, popping and cracking away in the dead of night. It's cool if you've never heard it!

It seems like every storm line coming from the west either dips and goes south of us over into KY OR splits and part goes north of us and part goes south of us..

.6" this morning. The guy that cuts/bales hay here had a rear tire go flat last night on the tractor as he was baling the hay. Only got half the field done. I don't know if what's laying in windrows will be good for anything other than goats now. At the very least he will have to spread it out to dry again, and we are supposed to get more rain tonight. He was on track to get 50-60 5x5 round bales from 14 acres.

On the ride home from work last night, it was easily top 5 heaviest rain falls I've ever driven thru. The rain was insane. It took 44 minutes, instead of normal 18 minute trip. I waited in my truck for awhile before making the mad dash to the house. After it slowed down, I checked the rain gauge and we had 4". I dumped it because the 2nd round of the storm wasnt far. This morning I checked again, and another 2.1". So, 6.1" in NE LaPorte County. A true gullywasher!
