The wind and recent rain in NE LaPorte county has been brutal. Near 30mph sustained with higher gusts. It's literally been go out to get firewood, or go out to get in the car, and that's it. Showing a super nice stretch starting Thursday. I cant wait!

Thanks! If the lake is still iced over, you better buy your beer now. I don't know how much will be left in the area after they get up there.

Thanks, I'll let him know. Winds have been ripping the last few days, a bunch of lake's are open. A friend sent me a picture of Leech and it's still completely iced over. This wind keeps up it should have them all open in another week. Checked a few bridges and the male perch are moving into the rivers. Haven't seen any walleye yet. Hard to believe I just looked at two of the HWY camera by me granted it’s open area but I can’t see a bit snow almost looks like a touch of green maybe starting it’s hard to tell on those cameras The weather app I have for up north says 50 to 60 this and next week I’d say the ice is gone or dang close. A lot of those lakes have running water so that tears up the ice fast also even in dead of winter a lot of times you will see open water at the inlet got to really watch out for them

My brother was there in the 70's in the service. A typhoon came through and he said water was being blown right through the walls like it was coming out of a sponge. The noise was indescribable.

My lawn has already had it. Burnt and crispy. Looks like a drought for this summer/fall for us. I'll be the first to tell you that I am not overly concerned with my lawn. It's my well that I worry about. No rain in the future forecast either. I watch Ryan Hall on YouTube for weather reports. He's pretty accurate usually. He stated a few weeks back that we'd be in an "Omega" weather pattern through June creating dryer conditions for us. Yesterday he was starting that we'll have a "Super El Nino" this fall which will also create more dry conditions.

I have supplied water by the county so no dry well worries for me. Not sure how common wells go dry. My parents have been on the same well for 50 yrs. Been through a few big droughts namely 1988. Dad watered just over an acre of garden, family of 5 of which 3 were active teenagers at that time so lots of laundry, showers, dishes. But that is in Madison Co where good water exists. Can you dig a deeper well if you think you may run dry? Or get 20 totes and stash 2500ish gallons? I don't think I will worry much about it. I don't have much faith in any weather predictions. Maybe a day or 2 prediction is all I can be concerned of. Mostly just check for today's forecast to know if hot/cold or rainy

Anyone cutting grass better cut it high unless you want it to die. My Snapper riding mower is set as high as it goes all the time - for my front yard. That’s where the grass is Backyard is grass, weeds, clover, wild violets. It gets cut lower

We had a frost this morning.............
Bone dry here too, lots of dust, some weeds are starting to look droopy. No rain in sight for at least 2 weeks of the weather guessers are correct, and we haven't had rain for at least 2 weeks.

FINALLY got some desperately needed rain, a thunderstorm that lasted for about an hour. I would guess we got just under a 1/2" of rain.
