Messy up north. Woke up to a lot of county truck traffic. We got a good coating of ice on everything but the road now. Saying a bunch of rain to wash it all away. Amazing, school never missed a beat.

Wind started here yesterday and has been blowing at 30+ sustained, with gusts to 50+. Our high today will be -1, low tonight of -14. Wind is supposed to subside starting around 3-4 this afternoon, and by 10-11 should be back down to around 10 mph. Lots of road closures, and travel is treacherus at best.

Lots of rain here in Miami and Howard Co 13/4 inch so far rain baby rain and Shrooms will grow. We need some more moisture for spring Shrooms

Headed to the doctor today to get drugs for my annual sinus infection. Was -5 outside when I got up awhile ago. Supposed to get some sun today, we'll see. |

Temp here bounced between 32 and 35 all day yesterday, had 1.6" of rain fall. No ice. Pond doesn't look like it came up at all. I see where Casper, Wy is closed up, no highways open going in or out due to the storm.
Mean Gene, one thing you may have to watch when you move here is allergies. Ragweed here typically bothers me from around 2nd week in August to first frost. But since OTC meds no longer work I get a steroid shot in early August and that cures the problem for the whole season for me now. Friends of mine are bothered by trees and grasses and they are miserable for a much longer time.

Crazy 40 degree swing here today. 67 as a high and 27 as a low. No wonder people get sick this time of year. Was splitting wood in shorts and a cut off and an hour later that temp was dropping pretty quickly.

Got a fast and furious 1-2" snow in NE LaPorte county last night. When I left work in South Bend, there was only a few flakes starting. Within 2 miles, I could hardly see the road and glad I was cautious. There were cars going 20mph and several on the side of the road. By the time I hit the county line, I was 45min into a normal 20min drive. Complete snow whiteout with no wind. Crazy.
