I think most on here are giving him the benefit of the doubt and hoping it works out for him. Most in here are fair minded and will wait until the real facts come out and then make their own decisions Agreed. I see it going 1 of 2 ways. Either will be handled behind closed doors and nothing released OR it will be big news and all over the news. No additional news is good news as far as I'm concerned.

I agree it will be handled behind closed doors. It just sounds similar to the Mooresville deer a few weeks back. Come to find out there was much more to the story and the guy shouldn't have even gotten the deer. It feels like no one on here has any idea of to whole story. Not sure why DNR would even let him keep any of the deer if his liscence wasn't valid. It's pretty easy to prove, either he had current in state bills or not, showing residence.

The mooresville hunter was a legal hunter. You are reaching, again. He will never get that rack if he cant prove he was a resident by the rules. And, it may get worse from there.

I hope everything works out for the young man. My first year living in Minnesota I traveled back to Indiana and deer hunted that fall under a resident license. Have bought NR since then. My son still carries resident info in Indiana DNR center as he hasn't hunted there since he turned 18, before he had grandparents living there making him eligible for resident youth even thou he lived in Minnesota.

That’s a new one…. Never heard of a grandparents exemption For a non resident !

Do you know him personally or specific information on the case? If not, then you have zero idea what will happen in this case.

Yeah.. I understood that part but had never heard of it. Interesting! Here ya go: The following nonresidents can hunt with a resident license: A nonresident younger than 18 years old may hunt, trap, or fish with a resident license if a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian is an Indiana resident.

Behind doors will determine the outcome if needed in this case. Most DNR law infractions never announce the name to pubic 95% of time.Only way the public knows of of outcome will be from leaked or it never goes in Book! IMO I Did hear today the Hunter still has the Antlers according to him…

My brother was asked yesterday if any of us shot or has seen the twin brother.
Umm..... What?!!?
Seems there is a rumor floating around that there was another deer (twin brother) running around these woods. I guess we found the reason for all the trespassers that landowner all the surrounding properties were dealing with all gun season.

Everything I am hearing is good. Hunter has deer and awaiting drying period to have officially scored by B&C (January 15th). After that it will have to be panel scored for World Record Crossbow and All time list. If I understood he has to wait 3 years for that. Seems to be all the rumors are just that rumors. Which is all great news.
