Everything I am hearing is good. Hunter has deer and awaiting drying period to have officially scored by B&C (January 15th). After that it will have to be panel scored for World Record Crossbow and All time list. If I understood he has to wait 3 years for that. Seems to be all the rumors are just that rumors. Which is all great news. Best news all day... Thanks! Not sure why the wait till Jan 15th thought deer was shot first week in Nov......You only have to wait 60days.Maybe the 15th is the day everyone needed is available. The next Big Game awards for B&C is next year 2022 so I would assume that's when it gets the final blessing! www.boone-crockett.org/big-game-awards

IDK. Sounded like Jan. 15th is when it is set up to be officially scored. Not sure how that all works myself.

I heard this morning that a 50K offer was made for exclusive rights to hunt the property the deer was killed on for the rest of this year. That offer was rejected with the message to tell anybody else to not even bother. That a little ridiculous. What is funny is how many in Parke and Putnam been hanging in barns that big and bigger for years they just wont ever be seen other than a record of being checked in as a buck. scanning thru the thread I found your post. True that LOL. I personally know of a typical killed in 2012 with a bow in Park county that officially scored 202 3/8. Steve

Well someone saying it confirmed I guess… SOLD! Supposedly turned down 50k for it! I was told $100,000 from a pretty reliable source, but just asking around.

I’ve heard he sold the deer...any truth to that? I heard the same…. Been trying to confirm that info all day! One thing for certain is he will benefit financially for killing it. Not only for deer or replicas but appearance fees at shows , story itself and lots and lots of advertising money as well as free merchandise. 😉

Heard he sold rights for a replica of buck to Bass Pro but don't know for certain. Hearing it was a private collector in Ohio. Everyone has their reasons for selling their antlers. Their property once they shoot and tag it. There will always be mixed feelings on this issue. At least he'll have the replica to display.

Congrats to him on a great buck. Glad it all turned out well for him.
If I’d ever kill a deer of that caliber, give me a replica and that sucker is sold to the highest bidder. I’d have no issues getting rid of it.

I’d have no issues getting rid of it. You could also sell replicas and keep the original antlers like many have done! Most Big Deer seen on national display are usually a replica with owner still having the Original. Most are better off playing the powerball then killing a Deer like Huff done… better odds IMO

It's a heck of a deer, that's for sure.
Congrats to the young man and I hope he spends his money wisely.
