Full moon is tomorrow so this should get them moving in daylight. It's getting close. I plan to hunt Saturday morning across the street from my house. I’m hoping you are correct about that. All I have been seeing in my outings is squirrels, chipmunks, and birds of all kinds.

It looks like most of central to south will not have 1st frost until some day in November. Most years the leaves are down by now or close to it.

With a full moon they move all night and sleep in day from my past hunting…. Never shot a deer with full moon actually I believe moon theory is overrated!

In my experience, 10am-1pm reveals better deer movement during the full moon periods.

I got my 1st daytime this morning since Saturday and that was 2 hours after I shot my doe. I too haven't had any luck harvesting deer or even seeing them during a full moon phase.

My Reveal cams have been going nuts at night time with full moon. Had a buck following a doe last night on cam, too.

I like hunting full moon days. Yes, the deer are very active all night, but late morning to early afternoon is a great time to hunt (10am to 2 pm). Plus you get to sleep in and check out early for afternoon nap.

Just as deer don't bed all day, they don't run around all night either. They'll bed down at night too.

I've never been the type to go by moon phases anyhow. I only have the weekends to hunt, so I take advantage of it. I don't get much time in the woods as it stands now, and with my luck I would have even less.

Went out for my first sit this season on Saturday afternoon. The weather was finally right for the location. Had 3 come in at 5:30pm. Arrowed the biggest doe at 12 paces. Watched her do the 50 yard dash and tip over! Another cold front is coming Thursday - Friday and the wind is supposed to be favorable. May do a couple of morning sits with my son since they're on fall break. Good luck all, may you have a blessed season!

Yes sir I did. Been hard for me to stay motivated on the editing though. I need to get a go pro so I can film my hunts. Might not be much excitement, but I will have some good memories on film to play back later. I might just start using my cellphone and save them to my SD card. I still haven't figured out how to utilize the video setting on my Muddy trail camera, so I can replay the shot placement.

I started filming my kids hunts in 2012. My son finally talked me into creating a YouTube channel a couple of years back. I'm still trying to improve the editing skills. Pretty time consuming until you get proficient with the software.

Was a great evening in the woods. For the first time out i didn"t forget any thing , got in and out of stand with out killing myself, got to see the sun shining thru the yellowing leaves of the trees. Had to smile and enjoy that view. Saw 4 does and 4 bucks,2 flocks of turkeys,8 and 6, the flock of 8 at 25 yds. Also got to see them fly up to roost all tho i could not see the acctial roost tree. Had a 3/4 grown coon walk by at 15 yds and stop and eat something then groom him self for a wile before leaving. I saw deer and turkeys and coon and turkeys at the same time in close approxsimity Watched one buck make a scrape and anotheri make a rub. Thought i was watching a Disney film for a wile. I also did something i have never dune before. I let a buck walk. It would have been a 10 yd shot broad side wide open. I know i do not have to give you my reason but i am any way. I have killed bucks opening morning of archery before. I am in a position where i do not NEED the meat. Each year i have gotten pictures of decent 8 and 10 points but having killed my alloted deer was not hunting at that time so i decided to pass. If i do not kill a buck later in the season i am ok with that but if that comes to pass i will not make the mistake of letting one walk again. I have stated before i am not a big horn hunter but but i just did not want to end my hunting season so soon this year. I may still take a small racked buck and will be just as happy as if it was a 10. I am looking forward to being in the woods the next couple weeks when the leaves turn to behold the beauty of the sunrises and sets.
