That’s a bummer. Are you going to try and chase him down? I'm looking but it's not looking good Have you got a dog?

Kind of like greghopper, My view is peaking outside the door of a chicken processing plant near Kansas City! With all the work lately, this is the least motivated I’ve ever been to Turkey hunt! But reading y’all posts and seeing some pics is starting to kick in some desire!!!

Been on the same bird for two hours. Just had another hunter start calling and haven’t heard the gobbler again.

Lots of roost gobbling this morning, I'm not sure how many birds. Not much noise since then. Heard one shot across the road pretty early.

I had 3 gobblers come in an attacked the jake stuffer. I had to wait to make sure I didn’t shoot two. First one that gave me a shot went down. They knocked the tail off the decoy

Well. I didn’t find my bird. Searched for about 3 hours and nothing. The bolt didn’t have any meat/flesh on it but was on the ground about 2 yds past where I shot it. The bird was at 31 yds and put the scope right center mass but just a few minutes ago I looked at my Jackplate on my Ravin and noticed it was at 20 yds. Don’t know what the difference in trajectory is from 20/30 but I think it was enough to just graze the bird and pull a lot of feathers off. What a bummer.

Went to the same place as yesterday and set up for bird B. Bird A did the exact same thing as yesterday and bird B started out that same. Then 3 stray dogs came through about a half hour earlier than yesterday. They spooked and went the way they came, right at bird B. He hung up in the woods about 100 yards behind me. I waited him out for a few hours, but he never left the cover of the woods.
I took a hike before I left to get an idea of where bird A has been going. I need to be 1/4 from where I was yesterday to cut him off. So tomorrow I'm taking a 1.5 mile hike the long way around the wood lot to be in the path he has been taking. Hopefully it's not raining because my current plan is no blind, no chair, no decoys, and no calls, just gonna sit againt a root ball and hope he does the same thing a 3rd day in a row.
For turkeys supposedly being dumb birds they sure do make me question my intelligence level.

All set and ready to go. I only get a couple hours this afternoon. I'm trying a different spot on SR 49. Not much ground but, I have killed a couple turkeys here before.

I'm retired (26 years now) and shaving is an option. Usually twice a week. Saturday night for church the next day for sure. I did the No Shave November for men's cancer awareness in 2019 and that became Don't Shave December. Then it Just Forget About Shaving January. Finally in Febuary I shaved.. I had a full beard that would make Duck Dynasty jealous when I was younger!
