-8°F this morning, power was out at some point last night after I went to sleep but it was back on when I woke up. It's warmed up to double digits, so I best get my butt outside and continue moving snow. How is the snow down SE of Indy? I need to go down that way shortly to do a consult for a new pond near Pendleton. Then next Tuesday it's off to Leo, IN to do another. If your up around here at lunch time I’ll try and hook up with ya for lunch and might even buy if you got time sir Thanks! PM sent

Their coal and natural gas plants have issues also. Exactly. Windmills only account for 10% of Texas power. Their whole power infrastructure wasn't prepared for this. Pipes at gas plants freezing due to moisture, diesel pumps that won't start to pump the nat gas, batteries only at 60% capacity, nuclear rector shutdown, etc. picture share

Coldest morning in 2 years here... Was 1 on Monday and 2 this morning. Haven't got 0 or negatives yet. When I left my house yesterday morning (between Mooresville and Plainfield) is was -5* F, when I got to downtown Indy it was 7* F. Both temps from the truck thermometer.

I work with a girl whose sister lives in west Texas. Sister called up here to ask what sort of emergency preparations they should take. Pretty disappointing since she grew up in Indiana. I believe the advice that was given was to go to the store and buy as much milk, bread, and eggs that you can.

Took the dog out for a walk today now that temps got up to 32°. She loves playing in the snow. We also seen 5 deer. She wanted to go get them. Lol Snow is still real deep.

I got the new quad down to the farm yesterday. The best ground clearance in it's class isn't that impressive when the snow is deep enough that you drag skid plates everywhere you go.
It was nice to see the deer are using the atv trails even when they haven't been opened up. I'm guessing 70% of all the deer tracks were on atv trails. I saw one big old doe on my ride. She was bedded down on the one ridge I had picked to leave all the treetops and not place any stands for a bedding sanctuary. Makes me feel like I actually have some knowledge about what I'm doing. The only coyote tracks I found where on the edges of the old bedding area we haven't touched in 12 years and luckily the loggers didn't get into. Three different deer trails went straight unto it, so I know they're still using it. Didn't see the first turkey track and only a few rabbit tracks, but the squirrels seem to still be quite abundant.
