In case you haven't heard already, I guess Texas is in a mess. Solar panels are frozen over and not working, windmills are also frozen. Don't get me wrong, I don't want innocent people to be miserable, but hopefully this is an eye opener. Bottom line is, there is no substitute for fossil fuels.

I gave the Arctic Cat and plow a good workout today. I damn near froze to death this morning, but really enjoyed plowing in the afternoon. I cleaned up all of my new construction driveways and a few of the neighbors'. I opened up some driveways and mailboxes for other people where the county plowed them shut. This is when being a good customer or neighbor pays off and being a jerk means get out the shovel.

Talk about a letdown. Medic22 posted about women being promised 8” and only get 4”. Highcotten came right back with “she’s 35 years old and I paid $35 for her 10 years ago”. I really thought this thread was going somewhere! Down the drain. This thread is going right down the drain. Yeah , we’ve got to be careful here..

The thing is, the people pushing to eliminate fossil fuels simply don't care.

Their coal and natural gas plants have issues also.

Serious side I’d probably just rented a skid steer but that will work! Couple farm boys, I grew up with their dad. I've helped them out recently and they are farming for me. Favor returned. They had that cat at fedex this morning. Couple scoops lol. Still so many good people out there

I drove from SE Oklahoma, through NE Texas, then across Arkansas and all the way up to Bedford today. Oklahoma and Texas highways and interstates were just packed snow and ice. The rest of the way was 50/50, pretty good roads through Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Took 16 hours to make an 11 hour drive.

Their coal and natural gas plants have issues also. Exactly. Windmills only account for 10% of Texas power. Their whole power infrastructure wasn't prepared for this. Pipes at gas plants freezing due to moisture, diesel pumps that won't start to pump the nat gas, batteries only at 60% capacity, nuclear rector shutdown, etc.

I went to start the truck this morning and it was dead. I had to dig my car out super fast and jump start it. We were almost late to the hospital this morning. I'm glad I went out extra early to start the truck. I'll throw a charger on it tonight. Something is draining it. The battery is only 3 months old

-8°F this morning, power was out at some point last night after I went to sleep but it was back on when I woke up. It's warmed up to double digits, so I best get my butt outside and continue moving snow.
How is the snow down SE of Indy? I need to go down that way shortly to do a consult for a new pond near Pendleton. Then next Tuesday it's off to Leo, IN to do another.

Roads look okay but I haven't been out and I think they are saying that we will get another 1" tonight.

You sure that’s the owners and not the landscaping company I can’t remember ever seeing the owners blow snow or cut grass around here about 300K and up your shamed if you do it meanwhile Jr is sitting on his butt in the house What Is amazing is the money they put in to decks outdoor kitchens pizza ovens and no matter how late I work or on Saturday I never see a sole outside using them
