I wonder if the rifle will stabilize the 75g bullets?

I wonder if the rifle will stabilize the 75g bullets? Dunno.. this “rifle” stuff is new to me Why would they not shoot well out of the Springfield Armory AR 15?

I just punched it up. Says 1-8" twist good for up to 80gr bullets in .223/5.56.

Yep, it'll be fine. I need to check what a CZ bolt action .223 is. I was keyholing 55g frangible bullets at 25 yds with one.

The Springfield Armory Saint is in the House! Now to go get some range time.. . I kind of fought the AR trend for awhile. Now that there are plenty of calibers legal for deer hunting, I decided to see what the buzz was all about. Definately one of the most comfortable guns around. Being ergonomical, adjustable, light, and customizable beyond belief, they are a gem. Have fun!

OK... With my macular degeneration in my right eye I think I need to scope it. I do not want to remove the back or front sight. I prefer a scope over a red dot but not writing the red dot off completely.
I'm looking at Vortex cantilever scope mount. I "think" that gets me high enough over the front sight?
You that have ARs what set up do you have?
TIA....

Woody:
That's the reason why I don't like that type of AR, I prefer to have the sights as "flip up" sights so optics can be used easily. If you had a "flattop", then the front flip up sight could go on the end of the handguard. If you go with a high mount for the scope, then you will have to put a high cheek piece on the stock so you keep a consistent cheek weld to the stock for consistent shooting.
If you are going to shoot 100 yd and less, you can put a red dot on it. Dad could see a green laser better than a red laser and he had bad macular degeneration.

Definitely less than 100 yards .
You’re recommending a red/green dot? Do you have brand and a ring set.
Does it sit up high enough to clear the front sight?
If push comes to shove I can remove the front post sight.
The present peep does flip from a small hole to a larger one that is not too bad.

That way if red dot goes out your irons are still there.

Hmmmmm.. that is interesting I never even thought of that.. When you get it set up, it really works great. So even if you forget to turn it on or need it NOW and don't have time to turn it on your still good to go.

Woody, I don't have a specific set that I've used with that iron sight setup that you have on that, is that called an A-2? I've used a few different ones on the flat top receivers that have flip up sights, and they co-witness with the iron sights. Let me check and see if I can figure out what ones they are. Be back shortly.
