It might just be early. I make maple syrup and our maple syrup season ended 1-1/2 to 2 weeks earlier than normal. Of course, it started about 2 weeks ahead of normal too. The very mild winter has things a little goofed up right now.

It seems everything is 2 to 3 weeks early. I have two silver maples that finished blooming. It now dropping the dead flowers. Crab Apple is half open today and will be 100% tomorrow. I will be cutting grass next time it's dry enough. It needs to be cut.

Was down by Louisville today. Bradford pears are almost in full bloom by the interstate. Everything seems a couple weeks early, so hope to start dry land fishing in a week. Turkeys were out feeling it, also!

Nice find. Is that a gray? I think it is either a black or half-free. I dont usually look for them until yellows are up good. Thought they might pop early this year, but they aren't.

Went again today. Found 4 nice 4"-5" blacks, about a dozen half-free, a couple greys, and about a dozen 3"-4" yellows. I was a bit surprised at the assortment all at the same time and all were on the same hill.

It ended up being 30 total. Fried up and paired with some ribeyes off the grill made one of the best Easter lunches I can remember!
