Brian pulled today. The bug really hit him hard and Im proud of my son's first long line run by himself. He hit it hard and tended traps daily like a good trapper should, finished out with 197. Old sticky fingers found a short stretch of his line and shorted Brian 7 traps, Dennis and myself only had two taken.

Old sticky fingers should be stuck in a trap and put out of their misery. I lost close to 250 Conibear 110's at rge end of the fur boom.

I miss trapping also, a bad back and knees took the fun out of it. I have a few trapping pictures from when I was a young man. just can't post pics.

Thats some nice beaver there. I really miss trapping. Just not enough time now. I used to trap VERY hard, quit the long lines about 5-6 years ago. I sure am glad my old partner ask me to go with him this spring. Will for sure take the time next spring but wont have time in the fall and winter with deer processing business to run. Will try and run a 2 week rat line through the ice with my son if ice and snow cooperate. |

My grandpa, my dad and I would head out early mornings to check traps. I always got to shoot the opossums and skunks that we caught in the fox sets. Then was the rat line in the boat, that was always a fun time. |

We used to take our pelts to a fur auction in Valparaiso.
Fur buyers would all bid on the furs so you were sure to get good prices.

Wish I could run a trap line up at my cabin don’t know if I could get that many but I sure could put the hurt on a few of them. From what I’ve been told I can wolf hunt if I buy the tag and a small game tag. I just may this fall if they open back up and I can go want to do some bird hunting got tons of them in my area
