We ended up with about 15 bass. A few were 3lbs. We kept seven. I just finished filleting them out. 7 fillets for the grill tomorrow and 7 for the freezer. It was a great time! I took a couple pics of Daphne and her fish but, she doesn't want me posting them. Maybe next time. Maybe you could put a smiley on her if she is just shy with identity? Anyway, glad she is feeling good and able to get out. Tell her we are all glad to hear it!!!

Every once in a while she'll tell dad she wants to go fishing. These are times Mom and Dad really enjoy. I'm very glad you had the opportunity to take your wife fishing. Aren't we lucky to have these women in our lives to spend time outdoors with? Glad you caught some fish to keep as well!

Sitting on dock fishing with 12 gauge by my side for those geese I haven’t seen since I purchased a stamp two weeks ago.

Sunlight to 1130 on monroe. It was a great morning, cloudy, decent wind, and hungry cats. Brought 3 home. Lost 1 at the boat and landed a 14 inch lmb. Looking forward to fewer boats

Well, since I bought the duck stamp haven’t seen any geese. Took a drive around they are all over the golf course and casino property. Better than out here crapping all over the place. Did hammer some gills and redears both days.

Looking forward to fewer boats One of these days we will run into each other. Heck, we’ve probably been around each other and just don’t know it. We were on the lake from about 10:30-2:30. Caught 7 yellow bass and 3 bluegills. Earlier in the year we couldn’t stay away from the channel cats. Now for the past two months or so it’s been yellow bass everywhere we go. Boat is back in the shop now though, so we are probably done fishing for the season.

I made a rod rack out of unistrut so real easy to spot. It is 1 of a kind. I plan to fish all fall and winter. At least until I get a limit of eyes or hunting drive overtakes my drive for fishing.

This mornings catch on pond using kayak. Crawdad pattern rooster tail 1/16 ounce. Melt butter and brush on fillets lightly. Add the seasoning in pic. Air fryer on 450 for 12 minutes or until done due to thickness of fillets. If you like blackened fish this is really close to that. Really good.

I'm headed to southern Jasper to fish a new spot. My wife is coming with me. But, so is my mother-in-law. So PLEASE!!! Get some bail money put together in case this trip goes south! Lol! I actually get along really well with my mother-in-law. I just finished restringing her rod and reel. It should be a fun trip. Hopefully we'll get into some catfish.

No catfish today. About a dozen bass and a few bluegills. We all had a good time

I felt like having fish for dinner tonight and the plan was to catch one Hybrid Striped Bass from the pond. Well, plans change. I was having so much fun I didn't stop at one. I ended up catching 6, I released the 3 that were a hair smaller than these, and a year younger. (these are 4 years old)

Just put some stripers in my pond along with 30 pounds of fathead minnows. Had some stripers years ago. Boy they can fight. Walleyes from Lake Erie last weekend.

Yep the Hybrid Striped Bass are good eating, huge fillets. I cut the red meat away before packaging for the freezer or cooking them fresh. They will pull Largemouth of the same size backwards in the pond if tied tail to tail.
They grow pretty quickly if feeding them a good commercial fish food. Stocked at 6"-8" at 9 months to a year old, they can be 12"-13" at a year after stocking, 17"-18" 2 years after stocking, 20"-21" at 3 years, 24"-25" at 4 years. Those in the picture I caught on 8# test line, and you'd better have the drag set or they will pop the line. These would have been bigger if I had fed more, I forgot to turn the fish feeder up and was only feeding 7 seconds in the morning and again in the evening. 40# of food is lasting almost 7 weeks.
