Just a few pictures to show how much the lack of rainfall has affected my pond this year. May 30 September 1 All those Christmas trees drank alot of water.😆

Most of them are still waiting to go in. Now's the time with the water low, I can put them in where I want them. Need to make a few Smallmouth spawning beds and get them in place too.

Hey esshup now would be a great time to dig out that pond and create a larger bio-mass area.

Hey esshup now would be a great time to dig out that pond and create a larger bio-mass area. Don't be fooled by the looks of it. We renovated it in 2008, starting with the 1/4 acre pond that was there and it's about a hair over an acre when its full. I have it sloped gently on the North side so fish can spawn, and not too far past the water line the pond drops off at 3:1 all around it. If I were to do it again, I'd remove the island. We dug it to 22' depth and not a week after we finished Hurricane Ike rolled through the area washing 3' of sand back into the pond, so the max depth now at full pool is 18'-19'. In the lower picture, the end of the pier is now in 7' of water.

7 of them made the all fryer team tonight. Looking for some dove or squirrels in the morning.

Catching some good gills on the bottom with red worms first light. Went and sat in oaks For squirrels around 730. Saw six got 0. Enjoyed just sitting in chair drinking coffee and being the woods. Maybe tomorrow’ pull the trigger? Not a goose to be found since I’m got my stamp. They know hunting season is coming up.

1 nice crappie and 4 or 5 small channels from monroe today. Wonderful until all the crazies came out. I left at 11. Apparently everyone that boats after 10 am has to have a trump flag. Never seen anything like it!

Never seen anything like it! If you didn’t know, there was an organized Trump parade on Saturday that started at noon. They went from the dam, to the causeway, then back to party cove. Pretty dang good turnout too. Better than I though there would be. We fished in the morning and caught about twenty yellow bass. Then headed back as the parade was coming at us. That was a bad move. 5-6 foot swells and it was rough to navigate though all that.

I went back this morning and fished outhouse point from sun up to 930. There were lots of trailers and boats in Fairfax so left before they rolled out of bed. 1 more 3 pound channel for the fryer and a short bass and crappie. It was slow fishing.

My wife woke up feeling well today. ( She struggles with a heart condition. ) Well enough that she asked me to take her fishing! I just filled up my live well at home, gathered the poles and new tackle box and we're headed out! Fingers crossed 🤞 I'll be posting some pics later! But, time outdoors with her will be my biggest catch of the day!

We ended up with about 15 bass. A few were 3lbs. We kept seven. I just finished filleting them out. 7 fillets for the grill tomorrow and 7 for the freezer. It was a great time!
I took a couple pics of Daphne and her fish but, she doesn't want me posting them. Maybe next time.
