Don't over do it! You'll get too tired and miss Ohio's opener! Thanks! Prayers with your surgery in a little bit. I took a video of my new view. Later today I'll send it to you. Hopefully, keep you in a good spirits.

I finished sighting in one of my compounds after making several changes recently.
Also checked zero on the crossbow, it was off about 6" at 30 yards, glad I checked it. Got it back on bullseye.
I'm really trying to stay out of the woods now. I probably won't be able to hunt here at home until mid-October. The food plot is looking great, rye is about 6" tall after planting 1.5 weeks ago.
I'm hoping that by the time I get out, the deer will have relaxed and readjusted from all the activity I had on the property over the summer with stands, waterholes, food plot creation, etc.

Grass cutting is finished. yeh. I only have 5 racketing straps so I plan on putting up the climbing sticks only. Good news no obstructions since I used this tree before. Taking a break, put up sticks, and then heading to store for some straps. Change of plans. I'm allergic to grass so I took a shower. Neighbor stand Saturday or Sunday. Weather saying rain in the morning.

Here is my new home location stand. The cedar tree split in half a long time ago. It has around 6 main branches from the split and one is laying out under the stand and one on the right. Nice flat arm rest.. I have it resting on top of a horizontal branch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JA--OL9ZIE From stand www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6QSzfz_BV0 Below stand. The stand is shown at the beginning in the cedar tree up the hill. Hard to see in the shadows.

Saw 3 fresh scrapes on the edge of the field where I hunt, 2 scrapes under the same tree. One scrape is about 130 yds from the one ladder stand and 25 yds from the one I set up for bow hunting.

Good news! 4th stand is up and brush cleared. I was surprised in the 3 years how much it grown. All 4 with lifeline and pull rope. Best part all 4 staying put until worn out or replaced with ladder stands. Each hangon has 3 or 4 racketing straps.

Working on meals for Wyoming. Got two gallons of ham and beans and two gallons of turkey and noodles done and frozen. Now just have to make my spaghetti sauce and dig out a couple gallons of bluegill filets and I am good to go.

I changed the D-loop out on my main compound this evening, then launched a few arrows to make sure the nocking point was still right. I haven't shot a lot this year, but I'm actually shooting pretty good when I do. I'm not sure if the difference is my new release or my new eyes (lasik).
I also loaded up the Durango, I'm heading west again after work on Friday.

Some of my rye plot is looking great, other spots, not so much. I broadcast another 200 pounds of seed this evening, focusing mostly on the thin spots.
I checked a few cams while I was out there. I had another buck show up, a pretty nice 8 point. Very little daytime movement though.
I'm thinking I'll wait until Friday to hunt here at home. I might hunt some other spots this week if I just can't wait to get out.

Blind is up and in a good spot. Ladder stand has been tested and secured further with 2 additional rachet straps. New climber has been tested and modified for ultra light weight carry. 5 rifles are sighted in, 1 muzzleloader and my crossbow are also sighted in as well. I have a few pistols ready for deer action too. I just need to watch the wind and show up now and it is up to the deer cooperating and me paying attention. Hoping to get my first hunt in this Saturday with one of the kids.

I've got all my stuff loaded up to hunt after work tonight, but that will be dependent on the rain. I definitely plan to be out Saturday AM and PM. Gotta do some chores midday.
